One block wonder - and my helper
 

I ordered more fabric to do more one block wonders (they are very addictive!!!)

I just love the fabric that I got!!!

Here's a pic of the ones I've cut so far ... I don't want to go super big with this one, so I will probably do some hexie cubes to fill in blanks!


If you see one that might look better flipped around, just point it out! I'm all for suggestions!

The fabric you chose for your project makes gorgeous blocks. I think choosing the 'right' fabric for such beautiful blocks would be a challenge. Will be anxious to see the next steps.

Love your blocks - they look like "hens and chicks" plants or ornamental kale. Some 3D cubes will look lovely interspersed between them and I can't wait to see your next posting.

Yes, she talks ... too much sometimes LOL I've had her for 16 years, (since she was 5 months old) and her vocabulary is quite amusing at times!

Kudos to Cheesehead for getting the right type of parrot! I've had people ask me why I have a pet pigeon LOL

Artsyone - now that you mention it, yes they do! And cabbage and kale LOL

LindaMRB - she picks them up out of the garbage and throws them back onto the floor. When I'm pulling off the paper for paper piecing, she's in seventh heaven!

And I decided to do a few more blocks ... and then I'll start sewing them together ... my idea is to have a staircase of cubes going through the quilt ... like a walk in the garden. I saw it on pinterest and really liked the idea.

Young bird?? I have a African Grey also, he is 24 years old now.

She is 16 ... so yes, still young! Do you have a timneh or a congo?

Pretty blocks. Pretty bird. I have cockatiel, she doesn't talk. She has to stay in her big cage as I have two cats and two small dogs. One kid is 1-1/2 Years old and would love to get ahold of her. Bird is Suky.

Your blocks are terrific, and your bird is Gorgeous!! We "babysit" the neighbors parrot when he is out of town, and they are such amazing birds!
