I went to a class yesterday on the OBW and we needed 41/2 yards. I will post pics when I am finished. Penni

Hi Penny...how big is the quilt that you are making. Thanks. good luck with it.

pennijanine 05-12-2010 06:52 AM

I just looked in the book and to make a good lap-size, twin or full size, you need 4 1/2 yards.

Quilter7x 05-12-2010 06:57 AM

I'm going to buy more fabric tonight for mine. I got 2 yards the first time and if they have enough left, I am going to get 3 more yards. I love how easy it is to make this quilt!

SandyMac 05-12-2010 04:13 PM

What size does 4 1/2 yards make? :-D

SandyMac 05-12-2010 04:14 PM

Oh dud maybe I should learn to read the whole thing.I think I'm getting old timers.

seamstome 05-12-2010 04:17 PM

Gorgeous. These are on my list of things to learn to do. I just love them.

Roxanne 08-19-2010 01:24 PM

Woody,
I just saw your OBW and am speechless! Question though, how do you get the cubes in it?

Tkx
Roxanne

woody 08-19-2010 02:36 PM

Thanks Roxanne for your kind comments, the cubes come from the book "One Block Wonders Encore" and they are just pieced as hexagons too.
There's a new book out called One Block Wonders Cubed which apparently has more cubes in it but I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. But The ones I did are very easy if you follow the guide in the book.

I have just gotten some more fabric to do another OBW, I can't wait to start it. They are addictive.

I have finally gotten this far on mine---it's not as impressive as some shown here, but I'm happy so far and I'm sure my SIL will love her Christmas quilt.

I'll post the finished pic whenever.....

All of them are amazing! Just beautiful!

sandpat 08-21-2010 05:35 AM

Wow Roxanne...I just love it and think it is every bit as wonderful as all the others shown on here. I would have never thought about using that panel....just goes to show...pic anything you like that has colors you like (as long as it has a large repeat...)...panels work out great according to what you did!

julybaby8 08-21-2010 05:38 AM

Here's mine and I do want to make another even though I'm not totally taken with this one. It sure was fun (and, at times, frustrating) getting it assembled. Also the original fabric that I used ......

cutebuns 10-15-2011 07:42 AM

I love it!
