Need help to decide. Which of the two do you like or is there something you would change to make one or the other better...I haven't decided if I will add the lettering or not...will decide that when I finish making it..This is just in the design stage...Want to have it complete before we leave for Hawaii for a month in January as we will be there still on Valentine day....so want to give this to my partner

I like the first one. The muted tones work well behind the Love you! Looks like fun!

twistedstitcher 10-04-2010 07:40 PM

I like the first one.

ChubbyBunny 10-04-2010 07:44 PM

I like the first one best.

kristen0112 10-04-2010 07:45 PM

I like the higher contrast of the second.

Gramof6 10-04-2010 07:48 PM

It is only my opinion but I think the first one makes the "I Love You" pop more. In the 2nd pic, the white pops most. Anxious to see which you choose. It is your quilt & you know the person you are making it for.

CoyoteQuilts 10-04-2010 07:53 PM

First one.

cjomomma 10-04-2010 07:55 PM

In the first one you can see the I love you but in the second one all you see is the white squares.

luckylindy333 10-04-2010 07:56 PM

I like the all blue pallet in the first. Maybe you can make the words in blue, too, and make them kind of peek out? Just a thought- it would be a little more subtle.

I really like the first one too. Great design :D:D:D

M.E.H. 10-04-2010 08:09 PM

I vote for the first one.

pojo 10-04-2010 08:12 PM

I like the 1st one too. The white is nice but it interfers with the lettering. Nice colors!

Jim's Gem 10-04-2010 08:41 PM

I like the first one also

Qbee 10-04-2010 08:58 PM

The 1st one is easier to see the "I love you"...good luck! :D

EasyPeezy 10-04-2010 09:15 PM

First one. :D

Kitsapquilter 10-04-2010 09:34 PM

The first one with the gray, definitely. It will be beautiful!

SharonAnne 10-04-2010 09:46 PM

#1 does it for me. It's softer.

Gramyx7 10-04-2010 09:50 PM

Great design.. I like them both but prefer the first one..

DITTO!

I like the second one best. Not sure I would put the "Love You" message on it, though, as it just looks funny to me. Having said that, I am 'color challenged' and have double vision, so I probably don't see either configuration the way anyone else sees them!

sewaholic 10-04-2010 11:26 PM

no 1

Fayelh 10-05-2010 12:27 AM

First one.

Definitely the first one

ConnieF 10-05-2010 12:48 AM

I think the first one shows the letter many times better....

DebsShelties 10-05-2010 01:55 AM

First one

SuziC 10-05-2010 02:05 AM

The first one has my vote

ranger 10-05-2010 02:13 AM

Both look great but I prefer the first one. It shows up the 'LOVE YOU' better.

Darlene 10-05-2010 02:41 AM

first one but both are nice

rootyr 10-05-2010 02:51 AM

I like the 1st one!

quilter on the eastern edge 10-05-2010 03:26 AM

I like the first one because the letters stand out against the background. The white behind the letters in the second one takes away from the letters and the message.

BTW, the U in YOU needs to be upper case to go along with all the others --- sorry, just the English teacher in me coming out. ;)

tdgiffin 10-05-2010 03:28 AM

The words show up better on the first one.

newquilter10 10-05-2010 05:09 AM

I also like the first one.

Mary O 10-05-2010 05:23 AM

No words. Make a nice label for the back.

ckcowl 10-05-2010 05:36 AM

i like the first one, but would probably go with the suggestion above and change the words to a blue that would make it more subtle, or i would leave them off, i think the heart is beautiful and speaks for itself...the red lettering just takes away from the whole picture...
just my opinion.

Ditto! The white is too stark for me and seems to distract from the wording.

Jo M 10-05-2010 05:57 AM

I'm with the majority - I like the first one best.

Nanax4 10-05-2010 06:12 AM

Both are nice, but I personally like the first one best. On the second one, the letters & the heart seem to be garbled up with each other, so neither the heart nor the letters stand out.

The first one your eye knows what to look at; the second one your eye keeps moving around & doesn't land anywhere, thinking what am I supposed to focus on.

I thought I liked another poster's idea of leaving the letters off, and putting them on the label on the back.

But, on the other hand, the letters on the first one make me smile and think, "Aw...isn't that sweet!" Without the letters, I would think "Oh, that's a nice quilt, but it needs something else to make it pop."

It will be fun to see what you decide to do!

Janis 10-05-2010 06:19 AM

Number one gets my vote. On number 2, the white is too stark a contrast. The words get jumbled in the second one, with the white competing for attention. I do like the border on number 2. I think the darker border sets it off.

kapatt 10-05-2010 06:39 AM

I like the first one too.
