This is one I quilted and bound myself. Those are Prairie Points around the border.

I'm a bit embarrassed to brag so much but the photo does not do it full justice.

I definitely don't hate it.

You should brag, it's beautiful!

sewTinker 09-27-2010 01:58 AM

the Arrows point the way! I like the smaller prairie point you've done - adds a lot to the look of the quilt. It's just beautiful - lots of celebration going on! I really like it.

rootyr 09-27-2010 02:01 AM

Very nice!

Patty Patches 09-27-2010 02:05 AM

Beautiful quilt. Love the Prairie Points. Never done them--on the bucket list though. They look difficult, are they?

thanks all for the compliments! :-)

i used my Janome MC6600 for the whole thing. i've had it since November and love it to pieces. :-)

the prairie points are bulky but not as difficult as i thought they'd be. i made them the traditional way - from folded squares. the next time i make them i plan to make them from rectangles folded in half lengthwise, stitched down one side, then turned right-side out to make the pyramid. i thing working with less bulk will make it that much easier.

MamaBear61 09-27-2010 03:55 AM

Very nice. I like your fabric choices.

KathyAire 09-27-2010 03:59 AM

You've earned your bragging rights - it's beautiful!

kathy 09-27-2010 06:58 AM

oh GF! nice quilt, I've seen prairie points as the final edge of quilts but yours are not, are they? it looks like they're loose and then the final border extends out past them and is bound. You really went all out. I'm impressed, AGAIN!

nlgh 09-27-2010 09:04 AM

The quilt is gorgeous and unique. I dont think I've seen that pattern before. I really like it and none of the colors seem to overpower the other colors.

Lynneander 09-27-2010 09:08 AM

Spectacular!

patricej 09-27-2010 09:11 AM

you're all very kind. thank you! :-)

it's my own design. i'm fairly certain the block is an original. i don't recall seeing one like it anywhere ... but i could be wrong.

kalady 09-28-2010 05:20 AM

I firmly believe you should be just as ready to acknowledge what you do well because too often we only feel comfortable spouting what we aren't so great at. It is okay to say I did a great job- and you did.

colleen1978 09-28-2010 06:14 AM

Brag away! It's beautiful...and make sure to enter it somewhere. You are sure to get a ribbon for this!
