My pile of unquilted tops is down again - this time by 6! :D

I can't believe how long some of these have been in the UFO drawers.

I practiced my stitchin-in-ditch on this one.

More practice with embroidery as quilting.
(I anchor the blocks with straight-line in the ditches, too.)

and by the time i got to this one i finally remembered to leave enough excess batting and back for embroidery-quilting the border, too. (no photo of that. i couldn't get one that shows it well enough.)

Beautiful! Your log cabin especially catches my eye! Thanks for sharing!

laurafet 02-11-2017 08:08 AM

My goodness you are ambitious!! They are all beautiful! Congrats! Now to think up some new ones....

patricej 02-11-2017 08:21 AM

i still have 6 tops that need quilting.
one of those shouldn't count because i am going to pass the top on to a friend so she can have it quilted. then she can add it to those she donates to a local group home for kids.

one i am going to send out to a long-armer. it's queen size and i just don't have to room to sandwich it without killing myself.

a friend of mine has two she will use to practice on her new long-arm rig.

that leaves 2 i need to sandwich and quilt myself.
but not today. they have all waited soooo long. a while longer won't hurt anything. lol

You certainly have been productive. I am generally unfond of log cabins or the colors you chose for that one, but WOW, I like the finished log cabin!

RedGarnet222 02-11-2017 10:31 AM

I so admire you for having gotten so much accomplished! You even planned out the fate of some you didn't want to work with anymore. I applaud you patrice for your beautiful work and your organizational skills. By the way, I love that last fruity colored row by row.

i used the embroidery feature on my Dream Machine2.
i got all the motifs/patterns from emblibrary.com
if you search on "single run" you can find a lot of embroidery patterns that are good for quilting.
most are about $1 each - my favorite part. lol

it's a variation of the card trick made with squares and rectangles instead of half-square and quarter-square triangles.

i hate to burst your bubble, but that quilt is red, white & blue.

i live in georgia but grew up in pennsylvannia.
so on the rare occasion i pay any attention at all to football, it's go Nittany Lions. lol

lynnie 02-12-2017 08:37 AM

I love the log cabin best reminds me of Popsicles.

i love log cabins but i totally "get" your normal ... err ... ummm... "aversion" to the color palette.
it's one that you either really like or really don't.
that particular quilt is made in memory of a friend who had said many times she wanted an orange quilt.
in fact, most of the fabrics came from her collection.
unfortunately she passed away before we got around to making one for her.
she left me her entire stash of fabric and quilting stuff.

it will be donated in her name, either to the local dialysis center or the local nursing home.

javin22 02-12-2017 09:01 AM
