I'll try again! Hope it works this time!
These are two of my latest finished projects. The wreath has a few issues, since I'm still new at this, but it sure brightens my wall this holiday season! I STTD around the borders and the green petals. Then I quilted the red flowers with gold metallic thread a quarter inch inside each petal (the red material has shiny gold highlights), and embellished with the Chrystal beads, and gold ribbon around the border. I must say I'm hooked on the twister patterns. The snowflake wall hanging is a Judy Niemeyer pattern called WINTER WONDERLAND. I took a class at my LQS to do this project. It was only my second attempt at paper piecing, but thanks to an amazing teacher I managed to finish it. There are 148 pieces in each block. That means 544 pieces in just the three blocks. It was a challenge to cut all the pieces, (it took one whole class just for the cutting) and keep them organized. So, after finishing one spike on the snowflake in class (18 pieces), I took the rest home and decided to do them assembly line style...all the same piece for all 24 spikes, then on to the next piece. Anyway, thanks for looking and listening. |

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. The twister was so much fun, and having to put it away after the holidays will make me sad. But next year the anticipation of bringing it out again will be something to look forward to.
