PM Madquilter about the writing. I think she is from Germany and may be able to help you although this is a different German because of the Amish. Wonder why they sold it?

I think it says: Flat side of the needle against (or behind) the big shutter.
Perhaps a reminder of the correct position to insert the needle? I am not sure of the word "Klappe", probably some part of the sewing machine. What a find! I hope to own a treadle someday! Lucky you! |
