It's good to practice on the seam ripper once in awhile! We all need it!

Quilt4u 06-18-2010 04:11 AM

Been there done that.

knlsmith 06-18-2010 05:23 AM

now I would NEVER have that happen! LOL Ok so maybe once or twice........ or more! Too much funny. Don't you just hate when that happens?

Grinster 06-18-2010 05:30 AM

I have done the very same thing! More than once...

Glad to see someone else do this! My seam ripper and I are best friends. Pretty bright colors. It will look great!

smagruder 06-18-2010 06:10 AM

thank goodness is was an easy fix. My seam ripper and I are on very close terms... I even have a block I use to make sure all pieces are placed correctly... Sometimes I just need to take a break.....get into the project and not careful enough....anyway, I do like your pattern... looking forward to seeing final project.

Beautiful blocks. Well, most of them. We all do that once in a while. Most often if it's me though.

Slow2Sew 06-18-2010 08:56 AM

My grandmother once got a HST block reversed in a quilt with donkey blocks. It was in a most noticeable spot, as it made one donkey a little boy, the rest girls.

gramquilter2 06-18-2010 05:30 PM

Using these same block I made the same mistake and di not notice it until I had it all together and the borders on.
You are lucky you caught it early.

pollyjvan9 06-18-2010 05:31 PM

Been there, done that!

anicra 06-18-2010 05:34 PM

LOL! My seam ripper and I are old friends.

bluesnowdoe 06-18-2010 06:08 PM

Calico Grammy 06-18-2010 06:24 PM

If we didn't have a sense of humor, we should never start to piece a quilt!!! Thanks for sharing.....made many a block like that!

rahaube 06-18-2010 07:25 PM

I have been making star blocks just like these and I ended up with one or two like your different one. That is what seam rippers are for. You are not alone in this.

GladGrams 06-19-2010 01:32 AM

Hilarious! I did the same thing on a Christmas table runner and didn't notice my backwards star till it was on my DIL's table... ooooops.

DebbieLynn 06-19-2010 04:46 AM

Adds interest!! It is funny how we all seem to have that trusty little ripper!!!

Brenda Retzlaff 06-19-2010 05:51 AM

Been there...done that too. Your blocks are lovely.

Lyncat 06-19-2010 05:58 AM

At least it's only ONE block. I usually mess up 3 or 4 before I notice. It's going to be a lovely quilt.

1quilt_gma 06-19-2010 06:00 AM

Your reflexes are quick! Good job. What are they going to be a part of?

Annz 06-19-2010 03:07 PM

Good catch. It still would have looked nice even if you hadn't caught the mistake. It probably would have been in the middle and one would assume you did it on purpose.

CarrieAnne 06-19-2010 03:19 PM

Whoops! But that blue is a really pretty color!

GrammaNan 06-19-2010 08:17 PM

I did the same thing with the same pattern last night! I stayed up too late I guess. I ripped it apart then went to bed. I really like the colors you used.

Marcie Cornelius 06-19-2010 09:05 PM

Look at you!! Making up new blocks already! No mistakes--only creative opportunities.

Rainy Day 06-19-2010 11:22 PM

Do the Frog Stomp: ripit, ripit ripit!

earthwalker 06-19-2010 11:28 PM

Love your stars....I have been practicing making them and getting very friendly with my stitch ripper. They tell me it's character building! Please let us see when you're finished...it looks really fresh and pretty.

annieshane 06-19-2010 11:39 PM

Beautiful blues. Thank heaven for seam-rippers. Do post your completed quilt so we can enjoy those gorgeous blues.

mimiknoxtaylor 06-20-2010 04:52 PM

The Amish always leave an error in their quilt because no one is perfect except God. That would have been my explanation. But like you, if I'd caught it in time I would correct it.

zz-pd 06-21-2010 11:25 PM

Love the blue. God bless. Penny

jdavis 06-24-2010 10:56 AM

You only have one?

I think I have three!
