OOPS! Good thing I have a trusty seam ripper. LOL

Grama Lehr 06-17-2010 12:16 PM

Lovely colors!!

erstan947 06-17-2010 12:17 PM

I would not have seen the error until I was all done. Good catch.

nwm50 06-17-2010 12:18 PM

I probably would have had it hanging for three years before noticing! LOL! Been there done that!

Quilter7x 06-17-2010 12:23 PM

It's good that you can laugh at yourself and let us laugh right along with you!

patricej 06-17-2010 12:23 PM

now how did you manage to take a picture of my blocks?

brushandthimble 06-17-2010 12:24 PM

I think we have all done that..

feline fanatic 06-17-2010 12:34 PM

Ahh, a good visual for why one shouldn't "drink and piece" .

sewjoyce 06-17-2010 12:39 PM

  But maybe we should "drink in peace"???

We ALL have days like that -- love the colors :D

mrs. fitz 06-17-2010 12:39 PM

Looks like one of them got caught in the wind LOL.

We've all been there haven't we. I probably wouldn't have noticed it until it was all finished. Pretty blues.

eparys 06-17-2010 12:41 PM

Great Catch! I too would have caught it AFTER they were tog!! lol

Sheila Elaine 06-17-2010 12:45 PM

Been there, done that as they say. You're a newbie, so give yourself credit for trying not to peak at the pattern. Rippit & go again.

belmer 06-17-2010 12:46 PM

LOL.... Can't tell you how many times I have been there!
Love your sence of humor

Jim's Gem 06-17-2010 12:46 PM

Good thing you caught it before attaching to other blocks!!!

Jeanniejo 06-17-2010 12:49 PM

This just means you are a "real" quilter now

LOL Y'all are funny. Man, I really could use a drink too. 3 more months... :D

While I've got y'all's attention....anyone want to give me some thoughts on how to piece these all together?

And should I change out that one dark blue with the big white print? It seems a little out of place now that they're all together.

Option 1

Option 2

insecurity 06-17-2010 12:59 PM

It would have made your quilt unique. Bet no one else has 1 like it!

sewjoyce 06-17-2010 01:01 PM

I like #2 better....

sharon b 06-17-2010 01:03 PM

You are doing GREAT with them  I like the top layout with the change you mentioned

brushandthimble 06-17-2010 01:07 PM

put them in opposite corners, leave the open in the bottom left corner and put the other in the top right.

isnthatodd 06-17-2010 01:08 PM

Option 1 without the blue print. Love the color combination on the rest. ;)

brushandthimble 06-17-2010 01:11 PM

I like option number 2, very different

MamaBear61 06-17-2010 01:14 PM

Oh well, you "new" block looks good too, maybe for the next project (lol)

craftybear 06-17-2010 01:27 PM

Glad you caught it

now you have the rip rip fever!!!!

craftybear 06-17-2010 01:28 PM

you could name it " Too Much to Drink"

Butterflyblue 06-17-2010 01:35 PM

I made that exact same oops once!

quiltsRfun 06-17-2010 02:22 PM

Boy, a little mistake can make a big difference. LOL! Shouldn't be too hard to fix.

Love your colors.

Pam 06-17-2010 02:33 PM

Your mistake could go into blacksmith quilt. IT looks like an anvil to me!

mom-6 06-17-2010 02:36 PM

I like the print as a focal point, so I would do option #2 and have the two print blocks in the center...ie switch out corner print block and aqua block diagonal to it.

I also think brushandthimble's idea of putting the print blocks in the opposite corners and having the diagonal color pattern would look good.

wvdek 06-17-2010 03:16 PM

Oops! I like #2 better I think altho I think maybe one more of the print.

CAROLJ 06-17-2010 05:40 PM

Been there done that!

kristananne 06-17-2010 06:04 PM

Thanks everyone.

I went and got a FQ of a dark blue without a big white print on it. I'll remake those two blocks and then I think I'm going to go with option 1. That's how I sketched it up to begin with and I'm thinking once I swap out the blocks, I should like it more. Will post pics of it all put together tomorrow with the pieced border!

stitchinwitch 06-17-2010 06:15 PM

Oh! That song is familiar! ...."one of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong - can you tell which thing is not like the other before I end up singing this song?
Was that on Sesame Street?? About 40 years ago???? hahaha

sharon b 06-17-2010 06:17 PM

Glad you figured it out  What time does the store open in the morning  LOL

dsj 06-17-2010 06:34 PM

The amish would leave it in there, they always add a little mistake.

annette1952 06-17-2010 09:20 PM

LOL Been there done that also. More than once!!

amma 06-17-2010 10:45 PM

LOL been there many, many times!!! Pretty blocks :D:D:D

quiltinggirl 06-17-2010 10:57 PM

I've done this countless of times too! LOL Your color of blue with the white is very pretty!! :)

shopaholic97 06-18-2010 03:53 AM
