I had to read the posts and then go back to the quilt to find the goof. It is not that noticeable. I like it and don't think the fabric is all that ugly.

Very nice, fabrics don't look ugly at all when you're done with them :P . No way I'd take that sucker out either, plenty of great name suggestions been given to prove it was a design choice

there was a time I'd have automatically either re-engineered or tossed the whole thing in the dumpster. (can you hear all the screams and fainting? ) now, if i know i could make the whole thing over in the time it would take to make the fix, i just force myself to accept the goof and keep going.

lucky for me, i've seen quilts and patterns for sale that use a similar layout (offset, asymetrical chevrons - laaaah deee daaah, now ain't we all impressed? )

i just laughed so hard when i realized what i'd done. up to that moment, i was feeling quite full of myself because - for once - all the patches and blocks intersected either perfectly, or so close you could barely see the gafarbles. i couldn't resist sharing the "joke's on me" moment.

artists always have a little mistake to let the viewers know it is done by hand... ok.. granted, not such a small mistake.. but.. here is an excuse !

PatriceJ.....you know now that I think about it that quilt that went together so nice is the one that was an oops quilt.....i once made a block to see if I wanted to do that pattern ....well I used all the same material but one and it was similar...sent this quilt to the quilters to be quilted (this was before Dad had a machine)....WELL SHE HAD MY QUILT FOR 9 MONTHS...yeah I went and got my quilts...had 3 that needed to be done....don't know what took her so long but it was to long....okay back to the story...when I brought the quilt home...laid it out on my table and big as life was my boo boo....yeah I picked it out...know one could even see the mistake but me ...but me mattered...so guess that's what was taking her 9 months haha ha ha....sure glad you can laugh at your mistake...guess that is what we gotta do..... photo is of said quilt

She did do several other quilts and one of this group...she did really great work too...oh well

it should look familiar to you, yes. hated to use it in a quilt.

can't you picture it as a crisp summer dress with a pair of spectator pumps?

it's been really easy to work with. not sure i chose the best companion fabrics for it, but i made enough blocks for 3 tops so ... too late now to change my mind.
