My first thought was that I would try using a solid orange for the outer border.

I also agree with tealfalcon too.

Or... The pink border reads as a solid pink which sort of competes with the OBW block fabric. I'd go with a true solid color to tame the busy center blocks or make them 1/2" borders, then use a wide outer border with un-pieced OBW fabric.

While the green border matches and plays well with the other colors, it takes the eye away from the quilt. Just my opinion though. Your quilt is beautiful.

I think I would add a black border with a peice of the original fabric pieced into the black in a couple places. It is pretty.

I would actually take off the green and the pink borders and use the floral as a wider border. Maybe bind it in black? For some reason the two solid borders (green and pink...I know the pink isn't but it looks like one :) seem to "blah it down" ( such a technical term LOL) and it is such a vibrant quilt! Needs some punch to the borders! Black is always a good choice to accent it with. Nice quilt!

I agree.

I think you need to have black on the outer edge.

Love it!

WOW so much to think about. Thank you all for your thoughts and for sharing your reasonings. I am going to wait for more ideas before I decide what to do. :?:

i like your thoughts on the black as you are binding in that color...the darkest color always gives a 'frame' effect that sets off the central piecework... and i think that after you 'audition' the fabrics you are considering, you should always trust yourself... you will never regret doing what you wanted to...only if you didn't do it and then it wasn't quite what you had planned...
