My choice is #6...but...they are all beautiful!

wesing 01-20-2011 08:22 PM

I like #4 best, but I don't think you could go wrong with any of them.

Welcome aboard!

Darren

The next quilt I make is for my dad's best friend. He is in his 50s and lives by himself. He asked me to make him a quilt saying that "His grandmother made quilts but he never got one!" So he doesn't care much about pattern and colors of blue, green or both with a cream background. I have designed several options with my EQ5 and wondered which one you guys liked. There are 6 quilts total but only 3 patterns and then 2 color combos of each.

I like them all. I would have to close my eyes and just point to one. Can't go wrong with any of them.

They are all nice but I think I like #3 and 6 the best. any one you choose will be good though. All are very pretty.

K.P. 01-21-2011 05:43 AM

I like #1 the best (like the 3 colors), then #2 after that; the patterned borders make a lot of difference to me, add extra zip and movement. Borders that have a pattern rather than just color make a huge difference in how much quilt apeals to me.

Aurora 01-21-2011 05:48 AM

I like No. 3, the colors are vibrant and I think that is enhancing the design.

Chickerson 01-21-2011 05:51 AM

the are all beautiful but my favs are 2 and 6.

blackbearbetty 01-21-2011 05:58 AM

I like 1 2 5 6.

ginnie6 01-21-2011 06:00 AM

numbers 1 and 5 get my vote

SharonAnne 01-21-2011 06:04 AM

All are beautiful, but #3 appeals to me most - it is masculine and colorful and it pops. The color combo is just right. But that's only MHO.

rportz 01-21-2011 06:07 AM

1,5 or 6 I really like the green for a man in it. He will be happy with any of them.

Joanne 01-21-2011 06:21 AM

It's a tie between 1 or 3. This poor guy deserves a quilt! Good luck.

jad1044 01-21-2011 06:21 AM

#3 or #4 got my vote - maybe cause of more color -

dmyers 01-21-2011 06:25 AM

my vote is for 4 or 6

neeng 01-21-2011 06:28 AM

They're all great but I really like 4 and 5 the best, more oomph and contrast.

star619 01-21-2011 06:31 AM

Number 3 gets my vote! Super!

skavanau 01-21-2011 06:38 AM

I like number 3

rosemaynes 01-21-2011 06:53 AM

WOW they are all great I would have a hard time picking.

Yankee in Texas 01-21-2011 06:58 AM

They are all nice ones - I think #5 or #6 would be nice for a man and he wouldn't worry too much about it getting dirty too quickly.

supergma 01-21-2011 07:14 AM

I like #3; love #4

GrammyX3 01-21-2011 07:17 AM

I like #1 the best!

Chris Kieffer 01-21-2011 07:20 AM

6 gets my vote! Very nice masculine quilt!

pjaco 01-21-2011 07:21 AM

#3 for me

MaggieLou 01-21-2011 07:24 AM

I like 5 & 6 best.

Baloonatic 01-21-2011 07:51 AM

I like the blue one best, #2 I think.

Crickett Sweet 01-21-2011 07:54 AM

I liked #6 the best. I think 1 snd 2 look pretty involved for a newbie. I have always admired the Hunters Star pattern which I don't believe is real hard but it has a wonderful conplex look to it.

Minding My Ps and Qs 01-21-2011 07:56 AM

What a delima! I REALLY like all of them, but I guess my favorites are (in this order) #1, #4 and #5. I can't imagine your dad's friend not loving any of them however!

dhanke 01-21-2011 08:01 AM

I vote for #4, I love a quilt with diagonal lines that doesn't require an on point set. I like the softer cream color with the blue and green also.

ledraj 01-21-2011 08:06 AM

My favorite is #4, to me it is beautiful and also has a restful look.

lreade 01-21-2011 08:09 AM

I vote for #4. It is brighter in colors, the pattern stands out more!

kapatt 01-21-2011 08:10 AM

I like #4 the best.

pkelly1947 01-21-2011 08:34 AM

#1 or #6. All are very nice

Texasjunebug 01-21-2011 08:36 AM

All of the designs are definitely nice. One thing I noticed for the first time - using border fabric within the design blocks gives depth to the quilt. It sort of makes the design float on the border fabric base with some of it peeking through. I've decided I really like that! Thank you!
