about hip hoppa laws:

Gotcha - like in the hippocratic oath?!

Yeah you got me 'bang to rights' - my farm is really funny and I wouldn't have it any other way! :D

Spoke to a friend this evening and she's bottle rearing a lamb who is completely bald! Going to see him next week! They've named him Thomas - should really be Kojak!

Mousie 02-18-2009 12:19 PM

um, why is he bald? he needs a hat poor thing. :)

butterflywing 02-18-2009 12:21 PM

the hippa (sp) law is this:

when you go to the doctor all your info is privacy protected unless you're a minor child. that means that without written permission a husband cannot be told about a wife, a mother cannot be told about an over-18-yr-old child, etc.

in the case of a minor child or a parent for which you are the care-giver, you may be told their medical and/or mental condition so that you may make decisions for them.

i believe this is true in all states now. not sure.

He's bald ALL OVER!!! Apparently its his breed and his fleece will grow in a few weeks - at least that's what the lady she got him from told her!

But he's toasty warm because he's living in her kitchen! She is a dear friend but ever so slightly nutty where animals are concerned! (Dare I say, worse than me!)

K x

PS When I go see him, I'll post a pic!

Mousie 02-18-2009 12:22 PM

I think it's the same in the UK. Not sure about France though!

lamb Thomas.
better than lamb - chops, lol.
Only lamb chop I ever knew belonged to Sherry Lewis.
I could never eat a pet. Is a chook, a chicken from a coup?

You maybe don't want to know but he is destined for the freezer!

But he'll have a very good life as long as he's around.

butterflywing 02-18-2009 12:32 PM

Mousie 02-18-2009 12:34 PM

oh, sorry to hear that. Ever seen Babe?
Thomas, don't get round, don't get round Thomas...you'll go to the freezer like my hubby is.
(my nickname IRL is Squirrelly. :) Always said, hubby was going to go first and I was going to put him in freezer. You know, the way men say women just never stop talking etc  ....so I can go visit him anytime....
one time he brought me a cartoon. Had a Mrs. Squirrell in her kitchen being led away by police. Freezer door was open behind her, with her hubby all stuffed in there in a block of ice...Cop said, "Now don't give us that, he-was-just-hibernatng-story!)
I kept it. It was a real hoot around here. (sorry, Thomas, I said the 'round word again)  :D

Hey, my string quilt's still waiting on the batting! (attempt to fool the mods that we're still on topic!)

K x

Mousie 02-19-2009 01:39 PM

I am so anxious to be done with ugh, "Princess quilt"...although it is for a cutie pie..and she has seen it...she likes it very much...I can't wait to do something that comes out straight.
I had to improvise with this one, bc panels got stretched early on, I guess, and I didn't know. Was looking good to me, till I tried to put rows together.
I can make clothes all day long, but this has been a learning experience. Next quilt is definitely going to be done by a pattern. Let it be somebody else's fault, lol! I feel like just hopping off schedule and making a string quilt just to soothe myself that I can do something that's not all whopperjawed and wonky. Not that I think any of it is easy. I digress, shh!
