Does your sewing look like this? I like little cutesy things so my room is VERY cluttered but I can find things in it (sometimes).

brenda21 02-16-2011 08:36 AM

and I'm sure you know exactly where everything is!

sewwhat85 02-16-2011 08:36 AM

wow what a room it is great what kind of long arm do you have

rusty quilter 02-16-2011 08:37 AM

Wow! You have been doing some serious work. I see projects everywhere, and beautiful fabrics to play with.

mbogenpohl 02-16-2011 08:40 AM

Your sewing room looks great! You don't want to see pictures of mine, I love lots of clutter also, but like you I can find things but when I straighten up my sewing room I'm totally lost! LOL

bjeriann 02-16-2011 08:40 AM

To me as long as you can find what you are looking for when you need it - that's great. It never fails, as soon as I get my sewing room cleaned and organized, I can't find anything. I remember exactly where it was before. Your room looks comfortable and a good place to work.

deema 02-16-2011 08:42 AM

Organized chaos describes most of my house! LOL And I know where to find just about anything in it! :D

I'm with you...I'd be embarrassed for anyone to see mine but am in the process of trying to get organized....I don't have nice matching furniture like I see in photos here....my two-room studio uses cast offs from the rest of the house....maybe that's part of the problem.

kat112000 02-16-2011 08:44 AM

I have the same quilting frame as you and mine looks just like that!!!!

Ditter43 02-16-2011 08:46 AM

I don't know how you do it!! I have too much "fabric dust" and lint in my room. I would have to spend too much time cleaning the dust from everything!! :?:

Oh my goodness you have it all, but where is it?! LOL As long as it makes you happy thats all that matters! Are you that gal we've been hearing about on the Oprah channel.....my sewing room....

LindaR 02-16-2011 09:01 AM

please can I have a TV in my sewing room....really nice

pollio 02-16-2011 09:02 AM

Wow, what a great sewing /craft room. It brings tears to my eyes. When I moved to Fl. 3 yrs ago, I had to give up my great sewing rooms, yes , I had two bedrooms, shelves floor to ceiling and wall to wall. I sold and gave away almost everything but my emb machines , serger and two other machines. Now , Im trying to create a stash again. You dont know how much "stuff" means to you until you give it up.
Ill never have such a great stash again , it took me years to aquire it but thats ok. Living in paradise does have its rewards.
I do miss all my sewing friends tho and havent found any new ones so far.
Have a great day.

lighthouse 02-16-2011 09:03 AM

JoMama..your sewing room is well used....I think it looks great :-) :-)

Lori S 02-16-2011 09:11 AM

Sometimes I wish mine looked as neat as yours! But I am working on it!

I go To The Sea To Breathe 02-16-2011 09:17 AM

I think you have everything that you like in there, and don't have to worry about anyone getting into it. LOL I love the color of your walls. I share a room with a 22 yr old GS who only uses it for his dirty clothes hamper. I can go in anytime, but it works for us...oh I forgot to mention it use to be his sisters room and it is bright tourquiosis(?)

I have a Viking Mega Quilter and the Grace frame that is made for it but I am afraid of it.

NanaCsews2 02-16-2011 09:20 AM

You say its clutter, but it sure looks like an organized clutter-much creativity here for sure! Love it!

AnnieF 02-16-2011 09:20 AM

Jo Mama my quilt studio could be a clone of yours. It has mismatched furniture....fabric wherever it will fit in bookshelves......my space. I do go through every once in awhile to straighten up....but who am I kidding mostly it looks just like yours! My 10 year old grandson told me "do you know the thing I like best about your quilt studio....it's so messy but you still know where everything is!!" That's understanding from the mouth of a babe!

I just sold mine, what are you afraid of? It's a great machine! Do you do FMQ or use the QBOT or the Quilt Sew Clever?

I LOVE Organized Chaos :):):)

Jo Mama 02-16-2011 09:25 AM

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments. The bulk of my stash is in big plastic bins in the garage. The nicest stuff I keep in my s. room. I have stuff crammed under the sewing table, under thequilt frame, on the frame shelves, under the sewing table - in baskets, cute boxes, etc. My husband goes nuts when he comes in the room. Also collect pincushions and old syrup pourers that I keep beads in. Gooby gobs of stuff to dust. ACHOO

I am not the one mentioned on Oprah - did she have a quilter on her program?

I don't have the Q-Bot - too expensive but I am always unsure if I loaded everything correctly and if my machine acts up I go in a panic. The FMQ doesn't bother me if I use simple patterns - it's just all the other things you have to do. I need an attitue change.

Pink is a good color for a sewing room huh? The WHOLE house is pink - even the garage. Somehow it works and my DH and I were too lazy to paint when we bought the house.

leatheflea 02-16-2011 09:41 AM

I just cleaned mine this week. Still dont have everything back together. Nothing on the walls.

Mariposa 02-16-2011 09:47 AM

Great sewing room! I like the term "organized chaos". Fits me too!

charismah 02-16-2011 09:53 AM

Hmmm.....I plead the fifth! But your room looks great!

Annaquilts 02-16-2011 09:54 AM

Looks cozy!

Lynnejean 02-16-2011 10:11 AM

All those fabric draped over your quilting frame looks mighty familiar! :-)

I'm getting ready to put the sashing on vintage dresden plate blocks - will use old feedsack and new reproductions so it will be something old and something new.

Are you talking about the OWN Network(Oprah's) and the Peter Walsh show about the fabric clutter? The show is on next Monday the 21st, at 8.

nwm50 02-16-2011 12:10 PM

I just wish I had the room for just my projects! And the amount of things that a required or needed also for this room! aT least you would know where everything is and I don't thinik its cluttered....

ann clare 02-16-2011 12:13 PM

Looks good to me.

littlehud 02-16-2011 02:49 PM

Looks like a fun room to me. Mine is never organized.

omak 02-16-2011 07:04 PM

I like seeing everything I own, too! Looks like we are in good company, eh? <wave>

stitchinwitch 02-17-2011 05:31 AM

We could take one step into your room and turn around ultra s l o w l y and still not see everything you have in there. It looks cozy, comfortable and very welcoming, not sterile, neat, and afraid to move.

#1piecemaker 02-17-2011 06:12 AM

I have a sewing room too. In fact I have several of them. Any room I happen to go into I find things pretaining to my quilts.

stoppain 02-17-2011 06:18 AM

Yes, Mind is just a cluttered

Wine Woman 02-17-2011 06:48 AM

I think it's darling! It looks like a quilt store or a little store we like to browse around in!

Quilting Pastor 02-17-2011 06:57 AM

I like it!
