Here are a few pictures of our "sewing shed."(Please excuse the mess it's in right now, LOL) It is a 16 foot by 32 foot shed converted over to a SMALL shop. It has insulated walls and ceiling, storage space above the ceiling, and we added a patio door to it. We originally thought it was going to be enough space, but as time goes on, the space is getting more and more confined. We now have plans on having a bigger shop made, with a work area in the back, and a store area in the front. Once we get the funding together for it, and construction started on it, we'll post.

"Our" shed? Sounds like you must have a helper.

Lucky you!

designsforyou 05-12-2011 04:45 PM

LOL, No, I'm the helper, my wife is the boss. She does the sewing crafts, quit peicing, and quilts for customers. I do the embroidery work, and make up quilting and embroidery patterns.

Dawn Hendrix 05-12-2011 04:50 PM

WOW..

designsforyou 05-12-2011 04:51 PM

What a great space. Thanks for sharing.

Cherylsea 05-12-2011 05:06 PM

Just a suggestion but... if you built shelving into your short back wall you would have space to store and organize and your shed might seem spacious again .... for a while! It is a lovely area.

earthwalker 05-12-2011 05:19 PM

I love it...all it needs is a little porch in front for the fine weather so your customers can sit down with a pot of tea and discuss their quilts. Oh and maybe a barn quilt or two (this is one of my latest obsessions). :)

Thanks so much for sharing your pics and wish you every success with your expansion plans.

craftybear 05-12-2011 05:58 PM

Wow, nice sewing shed

gramabiese 05-12-2011 06:02 PM

Don't worry, you will get it all nice and organized, then you will start an awesome project and 5 min later you will wonder why you wasted good sewing time, straightening it all up, won't stay that way. That is the sorrow of a true quilter.

anniec55 05-12-2011 06:05 PM

How fun!!! great hang out!

2000HD 05-12-2011 06:06 PM

In my dreams, lucky you!

Sewfine 05-12-2011 06:09 PM

Wow! I can get lost in here and start pinning all my ideas on the wall. When exausted, take a nap on the sofa, that I would have there, somewhere.
