Over a year in the works........

I am sooooooo glad to finally finish this quilt for my youngest daughter. There were so many thing that came up that robbed me of my sewing time. Being sick a lot this past year being the biggest problem.
This is a large queen size. The quilting seemed never ending...but I finally "got er done."The pieced backing used up some fabric I had for a long time. My daughter loves pink and purples in a quilt, so that is what she got. Thanks to Leesa for providing some of the pink and some of the black. I am going to give it to her tomorrow. Boy will she be surprised!! |
Very nice quilt.

Cute quilt and glad you are feeling better!

nicely done

I love the colors too. And I'm very glad you are on this board. We all miss you so much when you aren't. Take care of yourself. And be well.
|
Too bad the main picture of the front of the quilt came through so small. What I can see looks like a LOT of piecing, even a piano key border! Your daughter will be very pleased!
|
She's going to be so pleased!

It is done and beautiful. Your daughter will certainly appreciate it.

What are the dimensions of the quilt? The colors, sashing and borders have a very nice balance to them! I love it!
|
Very, Very nice. The more I see the blocks, the more I like their being separated by black.
|
I am happy for you that you are feeling better and can spend more time doing things you want to do. The product of your effort is beautiful and I know it will be special to your daughter. I also would like to see it bigger!

Thanks for all your nice comments. I wish the pictures were better. I am adding a couple more to show some of the quilting. The quilt is 98x98 .I stippled the big block with the flower after outlining the flower and leaves. The borders are filled with feathers and the small blocks have a flower. It's hard to tell but I used a silvery gray for the feathers and lavender trilobal thread for the rest. I used a pink in the bobbin to match the back.

Awesome!!! Great job.
Tanks for showing us. |
Great quilt. All my quilts seem to have their own time frame from beginning to end, case in point, the quilt my DH wanted me to make, he picked out 2 of the fabrics and unbelievably I had the third in my stash, I didn't need that blouse anyway. I intended it to be finished for our 25th wedding anniversary, but didn't finish it for 5 years and the same thing happened when making a log cabin quilt for my best friend in honor of her building her first log cabin home, that took about 5 years in "construction, due to building delays". That one had a slightly better excuse as I made the log cabin and mountain scene for the center of the quilt and it took me a while to figure out what I had done wrong as I didn't like it, but eventually came up with a solution and she loves the quilt.
