Just finished the last of the binding on my latest quilt. made from a pattern by a NZ Quilter Barbara Pritchard- all done in Bali Fabrics. Have been working on this for 18 months. All the petals (208) and all the flowers etc were all handstitched (buttonhole stitch) which I find very relaxing as like to have some hand work to do. I has this quilted as far too big for me- biggest project I have done yet.Also a close up of centre so you can see all the detail.
Hope you all had an enjoyable New Year. Here in Queensland Australia there is a lot of devestation with floods-further south than us but we are expecting to get hit soon- whole towns wiped out and poor people left with nothing- a good opportunity for quilters in Australia to make and donate quilts which I certainly would like to do if I get the time. Beautiful...absolutely beautiful. The batiks just make this POP! Nice choice of colours. I couldn't imagine doing all that hand stitching, but, the final outcome is worth it.

Your quilt is gorgeous. Love the colors. We had a lot of flooding in Nashville, Tn. a few months ago. There were a lot of people left with nothing. We were fortunate that it did not affect us.

I think that is one of the prettiest quilts I've ever seen. Everything about it is beautiful. If those floods get close, be sure to protect that beauty!! Hope it doesn"t reach you.
