My DH and I were able to spend one day at the Paducah Show. I had never been and thoroughly enjoyed it even though we didn't get to see it all. Although we have many pictures, I am going to try to pick out the ones that amazed us.
There were so many more I wanted to post but DH said I should leave some for others to post. This was about 1/50th of the quilts that were there. Hope you enjoy as much as we did. The first pic was one of my fav's as well!! The gold couching was to die for.
That was BTW "Summer Wine" entered in Large Wall Quilts by Kenneth Berg and Joyce Ross of WA. I loved "On my bed" but I found I could not photograph it. I know this is going to sound silly but ... it was so real looking and with the name of "on my bed" I felt like a voyeur! I felt like an invader in this mans bedroom. Not a bad place to be I suppose as he is a handsome fellow, but I'm a happily married woman :) |

Quilts like these just boggle my mind. What I do is quilting. That stuff is art that just happens to be a quilt. It is incredible. I can't imagine ever having enough talent to even think up the ideas for those things much less make them.

I have so many that I would have loved to post but wanted to give some others a chance to post. Didn't want to appear like a photography "hog". If no one else posts in a week, I will post some more. Glad you are enjoying

I have the book as well but didn't think I would have enough space to put the makers name and origin of each quilt. I did put the quilt name on each one of them. As far as photographing "On my bed", I felt if he didn't want everyone in his bedroom, he shouldn't have entered the quilt. LOL Thanks for adding your information.

I took pictures of some of the same quilts that you posted. I can't image the time involved for these quilts to be completed. The show always has work from very talented quilters. I just wish I was one of them.

Paducah show is on my bucket list! I was in paducah last summer and visited Hancocks of Paducah and the quilt museum. That was amazing!

My DH is not a quilter. He is a retired Nuclear Engineer. However, he was absolutely amazed with the quality of these quilts and the talent displayed. He took most of the pictures. I have a lot more but will wait a few days to post more.

The quilts are beautiful, but the pictures just don't do them justice! DH and I were there and I took lots of pics of them. But I'll let the others post their pics here.
The detail put into them was awesome. We had a great time and were thankful the bad weather took a break while we were there. |
