Hello Quilters, well here is my throw size 50 x 70 I made out of this deer panel, I cut into 9 sections. I had no pattern, just Pinterest pictures to go by. I was hesitant to post, because I have no long arm machine. I just used my regular sewing machine, dropping my feed dog and free motioned quilted it. It is not perfect, by any means.

You did a wonderful job...I like how the rectangle blocks resemble bricks...you quilting looks fine. We are always our own worse critics. : )

Jane Quilter 12-14-2018 09:25 AM

Looks so real! Love the brick work too.

Looks great! As Angela Walters says, done is better then perfect!

Jingle 12-14-2018 01:31 PM

Looks great to me. Lots on here FMQ on their regular machines.

Teddybear Lady 12-14-2018 02:07 PM

It looks awesome! Your quilting looks good. I FMQ on my regular machine sometimes.

osewme 12-14-2018 02:38 PM

That's so pretty. Your color selections are perfect for that quilt. I think the majority of quilters on this board don't own a long arm machine. Beautiful quilting can come from a regular domestic machine. It's not the machine that makes the quilt look beautiful....it's the one who quilts it. Your quilting is fabulous & please never be hesitant to post pictures for us. We all quilt & sew at different levels. When I would give away a quilt in the past I always pointed out my mistakes to the one I was giving it to. I never apologize for my mistakes anymore & never point them out & they are always loved by the one I give them to.

Good advice, osewme. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that doesn't own a longarm. Besides the cost, I have no room to put one. I told my husband we could get him a portable building and give him all the living room furniture to go in it, so I could take the large living room for a LA, but he won't go for it-lol

osewme 12-14-2018 03:06 PM

:D Sometimes husbands just don't understand! :D

#1piecemaker 12-14-2018 03:21 PM

I think you did an awesome job!!

Rhonda K 12-15-2018 04:35 AM

Well Dear!

Your deer quilt looks great! You kept the integrity of their faces, etc by using a larger center square. Congrats on a great finish!

Karamarie 12-15-2018 05:11 AM

Looks great. You can be proud.

Homespun 12-15-2018 05:32 AM

This is beautiful!

jamsbuying 12-15-2018 10:15 AM

Great job!

b.zang 12-15-2018 10:37 AM

I have a bias towards window frame quilts - don't know why. I like how you cut the panel into large and smaller pieces to emulate a picture window. Nicely done!

sue.ross.8782 12-15-2018 10:46 AM

Like looking out a window to see the deer. I saw a buck this morning in a Yard in Oakbrook, IL, which is not a usual thing.

tuckyquilter 12-15-2018 12:20 PM

Looks PERFECT to me.. Well Done.

Mariposa 12-15-2018 12:23 PM

ccthomas 12-15-2018 06:16 PM

Nice window view.

BrendaK 12-15-2018 06:26 PM

Awesome. BrendaK

zozee 12-15-2018 06:47 PM

Beautiful! The placement of the deer out the window is just perfect. It draws the eye in. ANd I love your brick surround. If only the folks with longarms posted pictures, this would be a very sparse board visually. I don't own one and have no plans to.

jlt37869 12-15-2018 07:38 PM

Good job!!

A1penny 12-16-2018 04:37 AM

Now you can have deer peaking thru your window all year long. Great job.

Fizzle 12-16-2018 05:24 AM

Thats great!!!

Taughtby Grandma 12-16-2018 06:59 AM
