Here are my kaleidoscopes from some pansy material someone(k3n) twisted my arm to buy!! I will still probably get a few more out of it but I lost interest for now and will do some more sometime soon. I have other things I should be doing like making hotpads and eyeglass cases for the lady who buys my stuff for her store.

This is the fabaric they came from.

Those are simply gorgeous!!!! Make more and then send them to me...

BlueChicken 04-09-2009 12:23 PM

They're stunning!

And I'm loving that fabric, even though flowers aren't my thing. I have a few pansy fabrics, that would be a gorgeous way to use them.

Everything I do goes either to Kalona or on my Patchwork by Rhonda site. I do have some on there now. I can put these on there if anyone wants.

I never keep anything except I did keep a checkbook cover recently so I could show what I do when people ask My keychain has seen better days but when I made some they went to Kalona.

Like the cobbler's kids never had shoes. I was a mechanics daughter and I had to take my car to my girlfriend's brother to get my car worked on! He was my dad's age.

Thanks I think they turned out pretty good. I have some black fabric with a flower design Ireally want to see made up. I will find time to do this soon. After the hotpads!

WOW! WOW! WOW! Those are absolutely beautiful!

Rhonda 04-09-2009 01:40 PM

The second and especially the third one make me think of what you would see at the bottom of a Kaleidoscope toy. I guess because of the obvious rings.

Jim's Gem 04-09-2009 01:41 PM

They look beautiful!!!

omak 04-09-2009 02:37 PM

Very pretty! Thank you for sharing!
I cannot imagine what that fabric looks like now that you are done cutting it up into pieces. Or, maybe the greater thought might be: What is she going to do with the scraps? LOL

sewnsewer2 04-09-2009 02:46 PM

Oh wow, those looks so cool!!

CindyBee 04-09-2009 02:51 PM

Patty44 04-09-2009 05:29 PM

Is there a lot of wasted fabric?

Patty44 04-09-2009 05:31 PM

I just can't stop looking at them. Do you applique them on a square? And then set them all together with or with out borders? I would love to see a whole quilt made like that.Great Job!

littlehud 04-09-2009 05:46 PM

Wow. Those are wonderful. I need to make one of those. I just love them and yours is a winner.

Shemjo 04-09-2009 09:26 PM

Really interesting and the pansies made a pretty design!

Pam Pollock 04-09-2009 11:02 PM

I was just telling my husband that your kaleidoscope Pansies would make cute pot holders or hot pads & then I read where you needed to stop making them so that you could get busy making hot pads etc for a store. LOL They would be really cute for the store & they look like they would be pretty hanging up in a kitchen or in a quilt (either one).

Katrine 04-09-2009 11:38 PM

Wonderful effect - just lovely.

k3n 04-10-2009 12:37 AM

Rhonda!!!!!! You beat me to it! I really have to get cracking thay've come out so great! I'm so glad the fabric works so well. I'm just waiting on some flannel so we can make a design wall then I'm going to start!

As for arm twisting, I have to say I didn't have to twist very hard! :D

Beautiful work!

I have a page on my site to show you how I make them Just click on "the cut down method" in my signature.

It is a dresden plate pattern for the template shape and then I trace it onto clear plastic so I can trace the pattern of the fabric onto the template so I can set it down exactly on the next repeat in the fabric.

gcathie 04-12-2009 06:58 AM
