This is the first quilt I posted on the site, it's my 4th quilt I ever made. I didn't have a pattern, I just wanted to make something my nieces could play with when they came to visit. The big pink envelope in the middle is to hold all the clothes in. I know corners dont match up, but hopefully the girls won't notice LOL! I confess I love playing with it too!

Gee, I have fabric ordered to do something similar but the problem has been how to get the clothes to stick to the
fabric. Had planned on using flannel. What did you do? Any help appreciated.

Never saw that border fabric in all places I looked but quilt sure is cute.

Me too, I want to know how your clothes/accessories are attached? I just took out my paper doll quilt fabric out of the washer and want to make a small quilt for my 3 year old GD. Her Mommy just got a new job and they will be traveling a half hour each way to go to her preschool on the way to Mommy's job. Thank you so much for posting. Linda :-D

An adorable quilt that any little girl would love playing with. Brings back happy memories.

sunkistmi 02-23-2011 01:39 PM

I don't know what she used but I used white flannel. I used Steam n Seam 2, or something like that, to fuse the flannel to the large cloth piece with the clothes then pressed. That way I cut them all out at the same time. The clothes stick really well to the dolls. Good luck.

judy_68 02-23-2011 02:10 PM

RDM 02-23-2011 02:10 PM

Its a wonderful quilt sure to bring much joy.

lauraspeer 02-23-2011 03:12 PM

Wow, thanks for all the great comments!

I used fusible fleece for the backing of the clothes and it seems to stick fairly well. I didn't quilt inside the squares because I didn't know if it would make it harder to stick to.

The quilt was hanging up when I took the picture and the clothes stayed on really good. I figure the kids will lay it out on the floor to play with it anyway, that's what I was doing when I was playing with it LOL!

Lightening57 02-23-2011 03:14 PM

Just amazing. I would love to play with it too. I know your nieces love it.

fayza 02-23-2011 03:15 PM

I used fusible fleece for the clothes. I found the border fabric at Cabbage Rose in Fort Worth, http://www.cabbagerosequilting.com/, they had alot of different matching prints for it. I also saw it on ebay too. Have Fun!
