Storm at sea - check ... now let's see what else is out there!

I came across the Deco Dresden blocks (christa's quilts) and have been having fun ... layout options are infinite, but here's three blocks!

These are SUPER EASY!

Gladygirl 02-02-2016 03:22 PM

Would you be able to tell me where you got your pattern--I love paper piecing and really love what you are making.

MarionsQuilts 02-02-2016 03:25 PM

Here is where I got the pattern: http://christaquilts.com/christas-qu...er-pieced-qal/

I looked at the youtube video and decided that I don't want to sew twice LOL I don't mind tearing out paper, it gives me a bonding moment with Echo, my parrot ... she LOVES to watch me tear off the paper and then take off with the pieces!

It is really easy! It took me a couple of practice blocks to get it down pat (I learned my lesson with the storm at sew template - practice first, then go for it!)

ManiacQuilter2 02-02-2016 03:57 PM

Have you look at this PP BOM:
http://adventurousquilter.yolasite.com/
She still has January block posted.

MarionsQuilts 02-02-2016 04:10 PM

Oohhhh. Thank you maniacquilter!!

I printed out the pattern and it came out 7.25 instead of 8.5".

feline fanatic 02-03-2016 06:26 AM

I wouldn't give this design a second glance, except for your color choices. LOVE the fabric/colors you did this in. Did you purchase a FQ or precut set to get that fabulous variegation in the teals? Or is this a set of handdyes? Please share your fabric source!!

MarionsQuilts 02-03-2016 11:11 AM

Feline Fanatic - I got them from Craftsy Here's the link: http://www.craftsy.com/supplies/kit/...72448~dumkmoab

I have been wandering all over Christaquilts.com but can not find the pattern for the Deco Dresden. Found the tutorial, pictures from others but not the PP pattern to get started. Can someone give guidance to find the pattern its self or is it in a book to be purchased? -----feeling helpless

sewnsewer2 02-04-2016 04:42 AM

Can't wait to see it finished. Love the colors.

lue 02-04-2016 06:01 AM

I love this pattern. My grandson may be getting married soon and he has a modernistic look in his house. This pattern would work perfectly as a wedding quilt. You have done great work on your piecing.

MargeD 02-04-2016 10:04 AM

Really nice blocks, love the colors too, especially against the black background they really sparkle.

meanmom 02-04-2016 01:25 PM

I really love to paper piece. Yours is gorgeous. I have been trying to decide what paper piecing project I want to do next. I need to start a new quilt. My goal for this year is to finish 2 UFO's to start a new project. I have my 2 UFO's finished so need to start something new.

gram2five 02-04-2016 01:36 PM

Really like that block and your beautiful fabric choice. If you enjoy paper piecing, you might be interested in this stained glass BOM, this is February's, and January's is still up.
