Enjoy your day!

Thank you soooo much.

This is exquisite. The fabrics, colors, all of it. Beautiful and so calming.

This is the reason I can't throw away my quilting magazines. I've saved them all; I don't subscribe anymore and hardly ever buy one; can always search thru my "oldies" and find a pattern, and I did find this one. I was so happy to find the pattern; now just need to finish some of my ufo's and hopefully can use some of my stash for this one. Thanks for starting this thread. So needed a push in the right direction; needed some motivation.

Hi everyone,

thanks to all of you for looking and your comments about this pattern. I don't get the McCall's quilting magazine, however my best friend might have it and she is going thru her collection today to see if she can find it. Now to show you how "green" I am about the quilting terms-----people have mentioned "EQ" and I don't know what that is. Can someone explain that to me? Also another forum member has offered to graph it out for me, and I responded to her and hopefully she is able to do that for me which is great. Everyone is so gracious on this board and very helpful and I appreciate it very much.

EQ7 stands for Electric Quilt version 7--it's a computer program that allows you to draft your own quilt blocks, quilts, pull them from the program library, along with fabrics, borders, quilting motifs, etc. You can also pull images into the program that you can then use in a quilt, also you can add additional fabrics (off of manufacturers' websites, scanning in your own fabrics, etc) check out Electric Quilt on the web--it's very interesting and helpful in designing your own quilts--I especially like how I can use different size blocks into a quilt and make it work! There are other features too--you can rotate blocks, change the colors in all the blocks easily, etc.

Love the pattern and colours

NIICHMOM 01-15-2017 08:07 AM

I was watching Jenny Doan's tutorials last night and she had a tutorial on the part that is a 9 square...and you can figure and the rest out....only question is what is the block size....... I agree with you all, that quilt is exquisit.

Stunning pattern. I would love to have that pattern also. Is it possible for you to post the EQ draft to this thread?

Altairss 01-15-2017 09:02 AM

For all those asking for the pattern this thread is from 2012 and the person that offered to draft a pattern may not see this old thread or may not still be on this board you can try and PM that person directly.

This shows you the basics of the prairie flower block expect the center is plain.

QM 01-15-2017 09:10 AM

This would be a fairly easy pattern to draft. Those of us who draft patterns all the time mainly started by looking at the shapes of the pieces and how they fit together. You probably have the pattern already, if not, PM me.

QM 01-15-2017 10:11 AM

I looked in www.quilterscache.com for the pattern The more complex block is shown as "Prairie Flower". The center piece of it is Square in a square. She also has a pattern for the other, snowball block. If you are not familiar with that delightful site, check it out. She has hundreds of free patterns.

I would love the pattern also. Does anyone still have it?

true4uca 01-15-2017 01:12 PM

Sure would like to see the full quilt. I think I have it figured out. Now I need to see the layout. The pictures I have seen just show all Prairie flower blocks. I'm such a visual person. LOL.

QUILTNMO 01-15-2017 03:57 PM

please send me the pattern also 📩

I also think it's beautiful!! I'll be happy to contribute to your stash for your knowledge of the EQ program. P.M. Tinker

tinker 03-11-2020 05:38 PM

I failed to aknowledge DianneK for her offer to make the patterning in EQ for you. DianneK, I apologize to you for jumping on the bang wagon. In assuming the offer would include other board members Tinker
