"Peaceful Abyss"

Even though this Triptych quilt is still pinned to my design board, it is essentially done. All that is left for me to do is add hot fix crystals to the water. I started this 3 panel quilt last summer, so it has been a long time in the making. Just piecing the diamond background was rather time consuming. But worth it in the end, because I like the impressionist feel that the background lends to it. This is my own design ... no pattern. Though I do need to give some credit to my friend Kathy, who is also a member of this board. She suggested some of the cool embellishments, not the least of which is the hook being swallowed by one of the Big Mouth Bass and the pearls inside the oyster shells. Pure fun, I love "playing" with this type of art quilt. It measures 28" X 70". I am entering this piece into a local quilt show this Summer.

Yet another Summer of Fun. Nita and I get together each summer and pick a project to create in our own styles. We bounce ideas off each other and see what happens. My project is posted under pictures called "Under the Sea" totally diff then Nita's because as Nita says "Less is more"...I'm totally opposite with "More is More"...we laugh, chat, listen to great music and create together. What more could you want in life as a quilter, creating with friends...
Nita as I emailed you "It's an Award Winner" and you totally deserve it...Here's hoping! |
Very cool quilt! The embellishments are great.

I've never seen a three-piece quilted wall hanging before. That alone is a great idea, but your total art piece is stupendous! You are definitely an artist with a vision. I was hoping you would be entering it in a show before I read that you intend to do so. Please let us know if you win any awards. I can't believe you won't.
|
Just gorgeous! I love the pieced back and all the embellishments!

Quilts like this make me embarrassed to call myself a quilter. Gorgeous!
