I use a lot of sizing as I piece my quilts and when I iron it out before sending off to my local quilter - and she loves it- she says for a beginner, I'm doing things right - which was a huge compliment to me, as truly did not know what I was doing - but just felt it might be the way I'd like to handle a quilt top to ready for laq... and like I say, she has shown me a quilt done by someone who didn't even bother to iron it before brining it and my quilter does not iron quilt tops- the way they come to her, is how she quilts them; if they don't care enough to do it decent,they get the same results back - anyway she laid the baby quilt beside the one I had made and what a difference!! Mine laid nice and flat and the other one was still rumpled despite the stretching into place in order to laq! So, it does make a difference! Plus anyone reading this - be sure to cut off all your loose strings or nests on the back - in fact I iron my top on the backside, so I see those loose threads, or nests created along the way - it helps the quilter and it helps the quilt as well.....
