Excellent!

DebraK 06-19-2014 02:14 PM

Thank you. I followed Linda's lead on the colors. I didn't want to deviate too much the first time trying one of her patterns.

SewExtremeSeams 06-19-2014 02:36 PM

It is very pretty.

RedGarnet222 06-19-2014 02:51 PM

Just beautiful! It really pops on the dark background.

ManiacQuilter2 06-19-2014 02:57 PM

WOW !! Those are tiny pieces. Love seeing what you are working on Debra. I would have to attach a magnifying glass to my already thick lenses to see those lines !! :)

RuthFru 06-19-2014 02:59 PM

Lissa 06-19-2014 03:19 PM

Oh please do tell more ... I have never noticed any of her patterns are free.
Could you please provide us with a link??
Thank you!

DebraK 06-19-2014 04:16 PM

If you sign up for Linda's monthly newsletter, she usually shares a free pattern or sometimes lesson type blocks and paper piecing tips with each mailing.

Thank You ... I knew about the newsletter, but did not know about the free patterns!
For sure, a good enticement to get me to do one of her bigger patterns!

you're quite right. her patterns are very intense! I think this is one of the simpler ones. Thank you for your comment.

I'm not sure what to do with it. I sort of made the block with a particular person in mind. She is in her mid eighties and loves orchids. I'm trying to think of something useful for her. It may end up on a grocery bag. I really didn't think very far ahead. lol, I'm accruing quite a collection of "not thinking, just doing" blocks ;-)

twinkie 06-20-2014 02:04 AM

I think that is fantastic.

gabeway 06-20-2014 04:24 AM

Looks challenging.

Yakkity 06-20-2014 06:28 PM

Great job, it sure looks like a phalenopsis! I wish I could smell that beauty.

JuneBillie 06-20-2014 06:35 PM

That's amazing. You did a wonderful job. Very pretty.

Helenq 06-21-2014 02:52 AM

Wonderful Block!

mjsylvstr 06-21-2014 03:12 AM

I have completed a few of her blocks and I am starting in on her 2012 freebies. I did purchase all the monthly packets for these blocks and her fabrics are fantastic……one could never find the choices she has sent in the little mini kits.
I did her puppy and made her kitten into a pillow…one is prettier that the next of her patterns.

debcavan 06-21-2014 03:59 AM

Beautiful.........

SheriR 06-21-2014 04:39 AM

Yowzaaa!!! That is pretty. And looks difficult.

meanmom 06-21-2014 04:44 AM

Wow that is beautiful. That reminded me that I no longer get her newsletters. I guess I will have to resubscribe. I love paper piecing.

DebraK 06-21-2014 04:47 AM

I came across her patterns looking for a crab block. Unfortunately, I still don't feel like I can piece that one yet ;-)
I'm impressed that you did the kitten and puppy.
