All credits go to Danmar for designing and creating Swish. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-45289-1.htm
I am making my Swish Bargello from her pattern. I want you to see it finished too but I just have to show you what this pattern is creating for me! I think I could name it the 'Dizzy' Swish Bargello. It has ripples everywhere! The fabric is flat on the floor in each of these photos. I will show it again when I have it finished. /Thank you for looking. |
Oh my goodness....how long did it take you to get that far? I just...can not even imagine making something that huge and...awesome. LOL
What a fantastic job you did. Can't believe the 'movement' factor. Looks like water waves.
awesome. Can't wait to see it finished.
wowee!! Great job so far!! Maybe we should call these 'Baby Swish' LOL I crack myself up!! :) :) I love the colors you chose, I cannot wait to see the whole thing. How were the instructions, would they be easy to do for a bargello noob?

I have worked 8, 10, & 12 hours a day on some days and skipped some days for life and family activities. It has been amazing, scary, exhilarating, mystifying, addictive, awesome, and so much more. I told myself I would never be able to make something as beautiful as the photos of Bargello's I have seen. Danmar's Swish pattern made it possible for me to do it. Now that I know where my colors will fall I can get some fancy fabric and do another one!!!!!!!!!!! |
Definitely swishy! Such movement! You've done a great job.
Fabulous !! Don't you just love Bargello. I am hooked!!
That is awesome!!!
 WOW-WOW Awesome I can believe my eyes. O my goodness it is stunning. You make me want to do one. :XD:

Oh Dorothy! It is absolutely gorgeous! I love all the pictures! I am so happy that you were able to make it from my pattern. I had never made a Bargello pattern before. I can't wait to see it completed either! I'm so happy for you!

Rachel So I chose my fabrics. Looked further and cut my 2 1/2" strips. Put them on the design wall and rearranged them about 105 times. (I am not good with colors so I couldn't tell where my colors were going to fall in the quilt. I put the picture of Swish on my light box and traced a line around the sections. Then I knew where my colors were going to fall). I kept doing the pattern just one small section at a time and it worked well for me. Yes, a person needs to know the basics of quilting and have a sense of the theory of the Bargello. A beginner could make this quilt by taking just one step of the Swish pattern at a time, doing it and then going to the next step. It takes concentration and rechecking each step after you have done it. It is awesome! |

Absolutely Beautiful!
Wow! That is beautiful. Love the movement.
it's on my list..I got impatient waiting for her pattern (she was quick, but I was excited about the twisted bargellos and couldn't wait) so I started one on my own. Her Swish is still one of my favs and will be next in line. Yours is beautiful too - a good representation of her design!
Holy cow, will you look at the movement in that? I feel like I am riding a wave. Cool.

It's s obeautiful,, May I ask where may we find the pattern??? I have ben wanting to make a quilt like this. I made a weaver fever quilt a long time ago, but I have no idea where it is now. I wrecked the thing trying to machine quilt it. Grrr... At least I still have the pattern lying around here some where. Can't wait to see it completed. Huggies, Fay
