How do these threads work? I have participated in groups before where we all made blocks (say 10)- sent them to a central location and she sent us each different ones so we ended up with a variety. Sometimes there was a theme or color specified, of course size, and always fun. Are there any of these groups out there I could join? Thanks for any info.

This is a link to a portion of the Board that lists all swaps and round robins. You can also find it by going to the top of this page, left side, you will see words: Quilting Forum.
If you click on those words, it will take you to the main page of the Quilting Board and there you will find the lists of TOPICS this Board addresses.
When you click on the individual topic (in this instance, Member swaps and round-robins) you will go to the next page which is the link I put in the first part of my response.
The pictures you are seeing here are from a round-robin.
Every quilt started with a center created by a quilter. There are six quilters in each group. IRR2 (international round robin 2) has ten groups with six quilters in each group.
There is a time-line (and, we try to adhere to it), and the center is sent to the next quilter who attaches a pre-arranged-sized border ... the quilt progresses from one quilter to the next.
At this time, we will be waiting to see pictures of the last border (8") and the quilt will be returned to the originating quilter who created the center.
Hope this helps <wave>

Patti, you should be getting Mary's quilt from me, but I haven't finished it yet...as usual. Then you will get YOUR quilt back from me with the september mailing!

I am a little behind...Patti, have you mailed "yours" out to Mary yet and Mary have you received it? Mary, have you mailed "yours" out to Colletta yet, and Colletta, have you received it?

Just making sure I have everything accounted for.

mary quite contrary 07-22-2010 11:34 AM

I have Colletta's and that is all. I have mailed everything else.

sandpat 07-22-2010 11:46 AM

Yes ma'am...see above...Mary has Colletta's that I finished. I don't have anything, but don't rush yourself my dear....I DO have plenty to work on!

I finished Colletta's today. Hopefully I can take it to the PO tomorrow. The picture I took seems pretty dark. I'll let you take another picture to go on the final page. OK? Thanks, M

Mary....what a great job!!! That was a fantastic idea!!!! I can see such beautiful quilted patterns in the open areas. This is gonna be a really spectacular quilt when its all the way done!

I'm going to post it on the Finished Thread because I might miss it when Colletta posts it again...but please do post it again Colletta!

mgrhs 07-27-2010 05:01 PM

mamabird3 07-27-2010 09:18 PM

sandpat 08-12-2010 06:02 PM

Hi Ladies....I'm just wondering where the quilts are for this group...I'm still waiting for mary's and also for Steph's....so Ruth...do you still have Steph's???

Steph..do you still have Mary's???

It so near the end date for the entire IRR...I think we need to bite the bullet and get this one done, so guys...can we get a move on ...pretty please??? :-D

Knot Sew 08-18-2010 11:35 AM

this one needs two rounds....I don't know whose it is...I am going to mail it on time. I am waiting for the who and address from steph.......this is the last one for me and I will be done. The most I have ever been late is one day.

sandpat 08-19-2010 05:43 AM

I know Ruth...you've done a great job all the way through. Your quilt is turning out to be really pretty too.

I'm just waiting for tops...I think I have 2 more to work on for this group...The group pulled it together during the year...we had a hiccup or 2...but I think the quilts are coming out wonderfully!

sandpat 09-02-2010 07:12 PM

OK ladies...I'm trying hard to figure out where ALL the quilts are for each group...As far as I can tell,...Colletta is the only one in this group so far who has recieved her quilt back home...is that correct?

mamatobugboo 09-03-2010 06:30 AM

Sorry everyone for being out of the loop. I am the culprit with holding up 2 quilts that are bound for Sandpat. I've already been in touch with both her and Mary so they know what is going on. My kids head back to school on Tuesday so I will be back into sewing again.

I just sent an email to everyone to letyou know details about the final shipping. Colletta has already received hers??? That is awesome! Beautiful job Mary!

Since the shop didn't have what I wanted and I didn't get to go shopping today...I might change my mind about what I'm going to do. I can't go shopping until next Tues....so I have some time to play on EQ...that will be fun!

Anyway, the quilt is winding its way to Miss Janice ... I can't remember if I sent it FedEx or USPS - - but, I think it was FedEx ... they seem to be the most consistent and reliable. <wave>
