Faithful Circle guild held their show in Illinois this weekend. I took some pic's, not a lot as my camera ran out of battery.

This guild was the 1st place winner in the "group quilt" category this year in Paducah. They were raffeling off the winning quilt!!

I visited the vendors but all I came home with was a loaf of yummy Zucchini bread from their bake sale!!

Will take me a while to up-load pic's. Bear with me.

One of the things they did was a "Featured Quilter". I'm embarrased to say I cannot remember her name!! She hand pieces and hand quilts. She had about a dozen quilts on display, and my camera ran out of gas :)

First up - 2 quilts from the Featured Quilter

OK - all pic's posted now. Enjoy!!

I'm trying to find out. There were a few others in the show, same pattern, that were being judged. I noticed later in the "craft" area that the pattern was for sale and I *believe* the pattern was made and being sold by one of the members. I think the pattern name was "Jacks" something.

It looks like 9 patches with a triangle next to each to set it off kilter then they're all joined with a 6 sided piece in the center.

The first one's "block" is made of six 9 patches, one on each edge of a large hexagon. There's an equilateral triangle between the 9 patches. That's all!

These are really lovely quilts! Thank you for sharing them with us, wish we could have gone with you to see them close up and personal. :-)

Those are some really unique quilts. I love it when a show has other than standard styled quilts. Thanks for sharing. :)

Wonderful! Thanks for taking the time to post all those pics. I enjoyed your comments too!

DogHouseMom 09-20-2011 05:51 PM

DOH!! What a dunce. I just noticed that the first "Log Cabin" that I posted (with the stunning quilting) ISN'T a log cabin ... it's just 1/2 square triangles!!

I think the layout stumped me temporarily :)

also ... forgot to mention. The quilt with all the diamonds. Some of the fabric in there were wovens from Peru. They were stunning!!

Where in Illinois was this show? Looks like it was a good one. Thanks for posting the photos. There's a show this weekend in Pekin, IL, put on by the Gems of the Prairie guild in Peoria...it ought to be a good show as well!

I agree, but it may be easier to construct if you use 6 equilateral trianges instead of the hexagon. Would be the same size equilateral triangle as the single one.

sewing4kix 09-20-2011 06:13 PM

Wow...what lovelies!

4EVERquilt 09-20-2011 06:54 PM

Lori S 09-20-2011 07:39 PM

DARN IT ... I was thinking it was next weekend .... And I really wanted to go ... It is so close to my house.... Thanks so much for taking the time to share the photos.

BevF 09-20-2011 07:40 PM

Yes, stunning! Apparently some quilters either went to pieces or were quite the cut-ups! I can't imagine doing scrappies with such little pieces. (Strips, yes.) Amazing quilts! Thanks for sharing.

scraphq 09-20-2011 07:55 PM

#1,I think, is called Jack's Chain. I have made one with 1 in squares and the triangle between the little 9-patches in pastel plains instead of the whiite on the one shown.

BETTY62 09-20-2011 09:05 PM

Awesome quilts. Looks like it was a great show.

blueangel 09-20-2011 09:15 PM
