Is there a pattern for this. Love it.

Yooper32 03-28-2011 05:53 AM

What parent wouldn't?

linken 03-28-2011 06:08 AM

I used 1/2" black and white striped fabric, cut 1 " wide across the stripes, and sewed 3/4" black sashings along the edges to get the sprocket look. My grandson is really into music, so the filler between the film stips, have a music theme.

That's an amazing memory quilt. Is it your own design? You do great work.

linken 03-28-2011 08:48 AM

Went to quilt show near Winnipeg, Pine Ridge Hollow, last spring, and took a pic of a similar design, and decided to make it my own. After I made it, I also saw one in a quilt mag showing pics of a trip, with map detailed background fabric. So...no.. the design is not original. The tricky part is determining the angle of the "Film Strips:. Thanks for all the nice comments. By the way, my 11 year old grandson had tears when he opened his present from a very proud Baba.
