Classes for Washington:
I know you have seen a couple of these pictures in progress already! I didn't do a lot of editing to the pictures, so I hope they are okay. I am very pleased with the way the quilts turned out this year. I haven't added a border to the Mariners Compass one yet because I want to do something interesting and I didn't have time to do it right now. http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/20...nalsathome.jpg beginning paper (foundation) piecing http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/20...tmasrunner.jpg Original table runner http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/2007/dahlia.jpg Giant Dahlia http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/20...ppearing9p.jpg Disappearing Nine Patch – good for beginners http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/2007/dwrrunner.jpg Double wedding ring table runner http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/2007/dwr.jpg Double Wedding Ring wall quilt http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/2007/dwrdetail.jpg How I did my corners http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/2007/improved9p.jpg Instant Improved Nine Patch http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/2007/insideout9p.jpg Inside-out Nine Patch http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/20...antflannel.jpg Instant Flannel Quilt http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/20...ntflannel2.jpg Back of Instant Flannel Quilt http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/2007/logcabin.jpg Log Cabin Quilt http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/20...erscompass.jpg Mariners Compass http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/2007/quilterscoat.jpg Quilters Coat http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/2007/snowballstar.jpg Quilting 101 http://www.gloryquilts.com/images/2007/xbag.jpg The X Bag – the only commercial pattern I am using this time. When does class start and where. Your projects are not only beautiful but look like fun ones to make. Where do we sign up?
I will be teaching classes in Chewelah, WA (50 miles north of Spokane, near the Idaho border) from Oct 22 - Nov 4. I go every year for two weeks of intensive classes at a pharmacy/gift/quilt shop out there. It's a delight and a blessing, and yes, I do make money at it! I used to live out there, and when I go, I stay with my best friend and her family. It's just an amazing blessing in my life!
those ar beautiful btw how did u get all those pictures in one post??? I thought u could only post 3???
Cassandra, I linked to my own online pictures instead of uploading them to this website. You use the Img button in the reply window and type or paste in the address of your picture.
Cathe, thanks for the beautiful eye candy! I have had some experience making what you call the instant wedding ring. It never occured to me to use same method on the nine patch. Great work!
My slowwwwww dial up let me see all of them! GORGEOUS!!!!!!
Those are all beautiful! I love the dahlia the best, but they are all my favorites! I have dial up, it took forever but I'm glad I waited. LOL.
Love all of your projects. Where can I find the doubleweddingring table runner and the other long runner?
Jeanette |
So pretty--and impressive!! I bet your students love you!! :D
I'm very impressed with how perfectly your points all come together in your quilts. I know how hard that is to do.
My friend and I stopped at that quiltshop when we were in Eastern Washington last year. If it wasn't snowing so hard on the passes I would consider coming to one of these classes. I love the mariners compass especially, but an amazing job on all. Come to western Washington to teach some time, we would love to have you.
I am in awe!
Very nice represetation of your work! Lucky girl to be able to go visit a friend and teach the classes.

The Inside Out Nine Patch looks interesting, how did it come by it's name?
Cathe, Your work is wonderful!!!!! Thanks for sharing.
Cathe,
All your projects are magnificent. I love them all and wish that I could take classes with you. |
Impressive!! Is this all recent work? If so, I'm amazed at your productivity! I sew at the speed of slow and really have a lot of respect for those of you quilters who seem to get so much accomplished in such a short time.
Cathe, if I lived closer I would come and take a class. I'm in Idaho but down in Idaho Falls and it would be something like an 8-10 hour drive from here. A few of the mountain ranges make it a very long drive between here and there. Have you ever considered teaching at Quilting in the Tetons? It is in Oct and has a lot of national teachers as well as a number of lesser known instructors. And it is only a couple hours away. ;) ~Tiffany |
just when I think I've seen gorgeous, there's a more gorgeous masterpiece to follow. I'm wayyyyyyyyyyyy impressed. Thanks so much for sharing.

I agree wholeheartedly

Gosh, I wish I lived in Washington, I’d be sitting in the front row taking notes. Great job Cathe! I think I like the Giant Dahlia most of all; I’ve a print by Carol Jablonsky called Helianthus and think would make a nice quilt. I just need to learn a bazillion quilting things before I attempt it:

Sorry about the flash, the inside of the flower is like little pearls of dark gold, an even darker ring of spots, then another darker gold center.
They are just beautiful!
Amazing picture Steve. I can see why you'd like to reproduce it.

Thank you! I have been so busy lately, but I do remember that I promised to share the directions for that improved nine-patch adn I will get to it as soon as I get this client's order out - hopefully on Saturday!
That is some fantastic work. Keep up the good work.

The tablerunner in your avatar is gorgeous! What pattern is that and where can I find it? Feathers |
It's so nice to have a teacher with us. Don't you all agree?
