Lawsonmugs contacted me because I sent her a PM to download a tutorial for a pincushion/sewing kit made from a Quaker Oats container that I had made. She posted a kind comment prior to my adding the tutorial and I thought that maybe she would like the instructions since she thought the pincushion was cute. After getting my PM she wanted my address. She wanted to thank me for the free pattern! Today in the mail I received a special surprise!

It is DARLING! I am posting a picture to share it with the rest of the board! I know that she made it and the striped fabric is perfect for the little chair pincushion. If you could actually hold it in your hand and look at it, you would be amazed! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lawsonmugs!

The seat opens up! There is a little ribbon on the back of it that lifts the seat. The quilting thread and snowman were inside!

Pincushion Armchair from Lawsonmugs!

We are all waiting for Lawsonmugs to see if she can post the pattern. It seems to have cardboard or the like in it with fiberfill padding. I have been happy all day since it arrived in the mail! :-D :-D

Well seems like this little pin cushion made quite a hit with everyone. The pattern came from a book titled "scrap saver's Christmas Stitchery" by Sandra Loundsbury Foose. I googled the name of the book and ended up buying it from a seller on amazon.Book was $1.50.shipping was $4 or$5. It is a hardback book. red cover with a black sewing machine and little stuffed bears on it Also 1 of the bears is standing in the chair pin cushion. This is a very easy pattern to do. Takes about 20-30 minutes to make. Someone in one of the secret pal swaps recieved this book a few months ago.I don't think we are allowed to do a tute on something that is patended.I hope you all get the book. If anyone needs help let me know. There are alot of patterns for ornaments and such. Thanks for the nice comments on my sewing. Ya all must have lost your glasses.LOL.Mary

If any of you ladies or gentlemen are thinking of making these cute pincushions & selling them, please contact me as I'd like to buy one. I love the fabric it's made from. I have the perfect 30's repro & perfect civil war fabric that could be sent to someone for this.
