I think it's beautiful, and amazing that you finished it after all this time! Good for you. I usually get rid of projects after a length of time. Often my tastes have changed. Really nice, your son is lucky.

Congrats on finishing and the fact it has a new home to go to already!

I remember seeing this quilt in quilt magazines over the years and your son will love it.

What a wonderful quilt for your son. Are you happy with it now????

RIDGEFIELD 10-17-2013 04:12 PM

Beautiful work.

RedGarnet222 10-17-2013 05:23 PM

Yes I am happy with it now. Thanks for asking. I changed out the last border to what you see now. The other one was a beige print and drove me crazy! It did nothing to enhance the design and looked too fussy.

Thank you everyone for all of the nice comments. I never would have thought this lap quilt would get such a great response.

Very nice quilt. And to think it took 20+ years to finish. I have a top that was pieced in 1997 and it will finally be quilted before Christmas!

Love your quilted trees and colors.

Great trees! A nice finish, and just in time for a gift for him. Love the beiges & whites too~

Beautiful! Funny how something about a project can hit us the wrong way and some time later we are able to appreciate it. This is a labor of love with all that hand piecing.

Love your quilt .

Excellent. Perhaps you found the beiges distracting, although they give depth to the pattern.

This pattern was on the front of keepsake quilting catalog at the time I wanted to make a fall quilt. I just drafted the pattern from the picture, made the templates, and went for it.

I love trees and they have always been the first thing I place into my landscaping. I love gardening and landscaping a home. It is so creative!

That makes sense. Anyway, I really like it. Thanks for the explanation.
