I have that bunny fabric and you have given me another option of what to do with it. Fabulous adorable quilt!

DebbE 02-06-2013 11:01 AM

Your darling quilt picture couldn't have come at a better time - I have some of that bear fabric & was wondering what I'd do with it. A co-worker is having a baby girl in summer...so she'll be receiving a pink bear quilt now. I love how you put yours together, so will have to keep the photo so I do the edges like you did yours. What a sweet quilt for a new baby!

Thanks DDamsel ... it was fun to do and yes, I could enjoy them. Probably will make more, though I do not have the babies to supply them to, as do you! :)

I did it because I always feel that the Chains that end up on the border open, look like they are just hanging there, kind of lost. So I closed them up! Thanks for noticing!

QE, this is a perfect quilt for a little girl. Love the border fabric. I really like to do baby quilts too, mine just seem to be more boys's (5 GGS's) no little girls, maybe someday.

GrannyQ ... Believe it or not, this was my first (yes, the first!) baby quilt!
It was so nice to make a full quilt, in such a short time ... I'm just learning to quilt them myself, and these are a nice size to practice on. so I can see more to come!.

terri bb 02-07-2013 07:53 AM

oh thats cute! i LOVE your binding! that is great the way it 'swirls' around to the back. very very cute quilt!

Mamaskeeto 02-07-2013 07:58 AM

Super cute. Like the idea of using a novelty fabric for the centers. Thanks for sharing.

wendiq 02-07-2013 08:10 AM

SWEET! Love the way you brought the nine patches into the edges and then added the border.....Clever and nice looking! I make baby quilts too, and always have a problem not makinig them at least 40" wide. Therefore, most of the backings are pieced......a pain but necessary for me. At this point in my life, I am trying to use up the stash and to only buy new fabric when absolutely must. Not always easy....:(

Donna 66 02-07-2013 08:11 AM

Great job--I *love* the striped binding. Perfect fit.

KimS 02-07-2013 08:22 AM

Nothing more precious than teddy bears for a baby quilt. I'm sure she'll love it! :)

Grama Lehr 02-07-2013 08:25 AM

What a lucky little lady to recieve such a darling quilt!! :o
The teddy bears are cute, they actually look fussy cut!!

dublb 02-07-2013 08:26 AM

QE - What method did ya finally decide ta use for sandwiching this precious li'le quilt? Did the wall bastin' work for ya?

sewbizgirl 02-07-2013 09:02 AM

That is the sweetest little quilt! Great idea using the teddy print in the centers... That's probably going to be the favorite "blankie" the kid drags around through childhood (like Linus...) :)

I can always hope! :)
I figure it's not too big for her now ... yet big enough she can use it for a long time.
Time will only tell!!
