Pinwheel quilt done
2 Attachment(s)
Ok, it is done, just put it in a wash. This quilt is made from leftovers, from 'snowballing' another quilt. The border was done separately but it goes well with the pinwheels. The backing is white muslin. While FMQ, only then, I have notice that some of the pinwheels go the opposite way, or well, one has to look to see it. Quilting is simple, straight lines on white squares and somewhat wiggle on the pinwheels. In the border I 'shadowed' the flowers and in empty space did more flowers and leaves and then I did straight lines as a background to the flowers. Took me a while to do that and I have been told to take a break from quilting?
Thank you for looking. |

Very nice!

Having some pinwheels in the opposite direction is charming! Makes for a happier quilt!
|
Wonderful quilt, it shouts spring is coming.
|
It’s beautiful! I don’t even see the backwards pinwheels but they were a design choice, right?
|
The applique border makes this pretty quilt even prettier!

What a perfect quilt! It's stunning.

Great idea to use your leftovers to create your pretty pinwheel quilt! Isn't it amazing to think that no one in the world will have this same exact quilt you created! I like the color combo of blue and yellow throughout...even in the binding!
Thank you for sharing it with us. |
How beautiful.

You have just inspired me to use my tiny left overs from On Ringo Lake. My friends think I'm crazy - wait 'till they see this. All my 1/2 sq triangles are sitting in a bag - and now calling me. This is beautiful. Thanks.

Wow that is beautiful! What a great leftover quilt.
|
That is a beautiful quilt. Really love the flowers and the quilting on this one. Great job.
|
It's all-around wonderful! Colors, pattern, quilting, border ... I end up being too lazy to put that much effort into the borders once I get that far. Too anxious to get it done, I guess. The borders are so additive!
|
Your quilt is stunning and oh, so much work has been put into it. Great of you to "save" the HSTs for this beauty, but I wouldn't personally had the patience..........my bad, as it is beautiful with its flowing borders and hand quilting.
|
I love everything about this quilt!!!!!! It's so fresh and dreamy looking.
Who told you to take a break from quilting???? |
