This is the weekend of the Pacific International Quilt Festival. It started Thursday 10/11/12 and ends Sunday 10/14/12. There are so many lovely quilts to feast the eyes and inspire us. I took a few pictures for ideas and thought I would share them here.

I went Thursday. Wasn't it wonderful? I'm playing with my new toys today ;-)

These are breath taking! I love the art quilts like these...so detailed and amazing! I think I just figured out that I like symmetrical and balanced quilts. Even the scrappy stack n wack has balance...at least to me.

All of them are absoluetly stunning!

Ooooo. A sneak peek. I'm going today - just itching to get there!!! I wanted to let you know that I was in Folsom a few weeks ago and I ALWAYS include a visit to the historical musuem. I never fail to look at those antique quilts and get some great fabric and patterns, etc. at the quilting gift shop there right in the museum. Love the bargains - some of the best around. Take care. |
Very beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing these wonderful quilts.

These quilts are some of the prettiest quilts I have ever seen. Absolute "works of art". Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for taking the time to share these excellent quilts, I really enjoyed them!

OH my ... what beauties! I wish I could go but it is a bit far away from Illinois. I think I will put it on the calendar for next year. I would love to own the Poppy quilt especially...Thanks so much for sharing!

WOW, beautiful art!
|
Incredible ...
thanks for sharing |
Hey this is a small world. I lived in Silicon Valley for over 40 years and moved up here when we retired. I lived in Willow Glen. Loved the show and only shared a few. Go early as it does get crowded.

Gorgeous art! And in the form of quilts! I am inspired. And dare I say, a little bit intimidated? Just awesome. What a wonderful show. Thank you.
|
Wow, that Wedding Ring quilt - amazing what less than a 1/4 yard (probably) of a light light can do to a quilt.
Great quilts, thanks for sharing Here are some links from TQS for more pics (two parts): http://www.thequiltshow.com/os/blog.php/blog_id/4240 http://www.thequiltshow.com/os/blog.php/blog_id/4255 |
Glad you found some that allowed pictures--everywhere I was tempted were signs prohibiting photos! It was a nice show though!

This show is always in October at the Santa Clara Convention Center which is near Great America. It runs for four days. I haven't taken classes here, but if you were coming up to this event, you might want to check out the classes as well. I have gone for four years and have never been disappointed. It is within walking distance of Amtrak so you could ride the train, stay at the Marriott and never need a car. Here is a link http://www.quiltfest.com/activities.asp?id=7
Hope you are able to come next year. You wont be disappointed.

I agree. These are mind-boggling! Can you give more info about this show? Where and when annually? I might plan a trip around it!
|
maybe a little intimidating, but I don't go there in my head, the inspiring part takes right over. It's overwhelming. You just walk away wowed.
|
They let you take all the pictures you want of the quilts in the show, but we were reminded over loudspeaker that you couldn't take pictures at the vendor booths unless you got permission from the vendor first.
|
They are all so beautiful and so intricate! Thank you for sharing these beauties with us.
|
Wow!! These are amazing quilts. I wish I were going.
|
Oh thank you for the pics, this is the first time in years that I am unable to attend PIQF!! At 5:50 this morning I was near tears as I realized that all my guild friends were boarding the bus at that very moment... :(
|

Thanks for clarifying, I thought maybe I did an oops. I took some just to remember the technique. I love going there each year, just for the awe and inspiration.

Thank you, I LOVE quilt shows!!!!
|
They are all spectacular!!! Love the purple double wedding ring. They are all ribbon winners in my book
|
Spectacular work! Thanks for posting. That forest scene is incredible and I had to look more than twice to see that it was actually a quilt! I'll be surprised if it doesn't win a ribbon!
|

|
no oops ;-) I do the same thing. I go for the same reasons. I'm never disappointed.
