Thank you for sharing this. I am a new quilter and I hope to someday make a work-of-art such as this. Of course, it will take until I get a good supply of stash. Thank you again for another idea for me to file and do. Good thoughts.

Hand on heart here  I let them fall where they did There are places where the same 2 pieces ended up next to each other, but in the dark and light values scheme, they work. I am hoping, that when it is done, it is the pattern that will stand out, and then just an eye of lots of colors, that is if I do it right  I think, and this is just my opinion, that patterns were come by because our quilt ancestors had such a small amount of material, and didn't have a lot of choices, so they had to come up with different patterns to make their work stand out. It is easy to use a beautiful piece of material, and work around it. But to know that they could take the left over scraps from their clothing, and turn them into a work of art has always fascinated me. Oh, well, you know how strange I am   |

Ninnie--like the way the secondary block is formed with the corners of the blocks, too. Such inspiration for us all.

I really like the scrappy look! Very nice squares!

Love the buggy wheels; where did you find the pattern? Thanks for sharing.

is the basic design a Carpenter's Wheel?
|
oops - I meant: is it basically a Carpenter's STAR?
Also, would be a good "leaders & enders" project, sewing those hst's together as you're sewing other pieces where it's helpful to begin with a little "leader" piece to prevent the needle from poking the beginning of the pieces down into the machine. |
Ninnie, These squares are great. Mine don't turn out as nice.
Thanks for showing us. It's going to be a beautiful quilt. Eiltcoq. |
