Oh this is a great idea, darks and lights and not worry of matching blocks .. just hit and a miss and wa la it looks great :)

that is what i did with my strips..pull them out of the pile w/o
looking and kept sewing. Your is just so pretty & put together to look like you planned it to be this way! Eyes are glazed over looking at this gorgeous blocks.

I think I would love to give this a try. Of course it will nowhere be as beautiful as yours! It does look like the Carpenter's Star. Is it the same? I cannot remember now where I've seen it, to compare.
