Playing with selvedges!
2 Attachment(s)
I have wanted to tackle a travel bag for some time. I love working with selvedges and denim...so delved into my stash and went for it!!! It's been a learning curve!! It would have benefitted from firmer interfacing but I'm quite happy with my first effort! I even managed the zip!!! (I have an aversion to zips!!!) Considering the thickness of some of the seams I'm amazed I only broke one needle when I hit the zip end!!

That's a great looking bag & the selvedges really set it apart from the normal looking bags. Thanks for the pictures.

It's cute and looks really sturdy, too.

Fun bag! Great use of your selvedges.

Nice job...it's a keeper...
It looks really wonderful. Nice job.
Completely cute! And useful, too! I'd like to get organized, save up my selvages and make a project. I hadn't thought of pockets on a bag - great idea.
Thankyou all for your kind comments!! Selvedges are like scraps...they breed in the dark!! I have done lots of different projects using them but still have 2 VERY large bags of them!! Yes....it's addictive!!!:) :)
Great job! I like your denim/selvage combo. I would spray the bag with fabric protector to keep your pretty selvage fabrics clean. I use it on my placemats..works great.
Great bag, I'm sure it was thick to deal with . You did a great job. Can we have the pattern source?
Good work.

Great use of selvages. I have plenty and plan on making a picnic quilt someday. This would be a great tote bag for a take-along cooler, lined with Insulbrite. Thanks.
I to love selvages they make wonderful pot holders and I have been wanting to make a vest and a bag so mant things to do with them but we could we just add some more hours in a day
How original! I love everything about it. I know it will wear well, since selvedges are so sturdy.
Wow, well done! I don't think I'd have the nerve to tackle something like that!
Awesome bag! You did an amazing job!

Very nice bag, I also love the salvages.
Love, love, LOVE your bag! And like you I have an aversion to zippers (loved the way you put that). One of my many goals this year is to master them and your bag will definitely be an inspiration to me!
Nicely done
Really like your bag.
Clever use of those selvedges.
That turned out great. The salvage pockets compliment the denim so nicely.
