I like both versions but especially love the 2nd. Keeping it in your car is an excellent idea. You never know when it might come in handy covering shopping bags, chilly children, a picnic,
I go to this fall get together and every year have had to get
mine out of the car and wrap around an older lady who is chilled. But don't give up on it. I really, really like it.

tlrnhi 03-13-2010 05:49 AM

I love the 2d one!!

Martina 03-13-2010 05:55 AM

I like the second design('Round the World Multi)best. :-)

sandpat 03-13-2010 05:59 AM

Another #2 vote here!

mjsylvstr 03-13-2010 06:23 AM

I really like the second one.....go for it..and whoever is the recipient, will be thrilled.......or if not......
there are definitely a number of us who would be glad to take it off your hands.....

Looks good to me....mj

Gramma 03-13-2010 08:14 AM

I like the second one, too. It will look different after ir has been quilted.

wvdek 03-13-2010 08:15 AM

#2.

K.P. 03-13-2010 08:35 AM

I love them both, you have the true version of a scrappy quilt, and you were correct in what you told your husband, it isn't supposed to match; did the quilters of yester-year worry about patterns/colors matching, they worked with what they had and made some of the prettiest quilts still around today...I love what you have done, you should be proud; either version would be great and I for one would be proud to display it on any of my beds any day of the year...if you decide to put it in the UFO bin, PM me and I'll take it off your hands and finish it...I think it's great!

I go To The Sea To Breathe 03-13-2010 08:36 AM

I really like the scrappy around the world.

janice4 03-13-2010 08:42 AM

I am not a scrappy lover either.. but number two is a nicer option on my eyes... if you finish and don't like you can always donate it ? Sometimes finishing those UFO's doesn't always work out as well as we'd like and IT'S OKAY to not finish it or tuck it in a bag for donation...for someone else to;). OR like someone said use as a car blanket I live in CA but always like a blanket in car for when we come home in the night it can be cold and it is cozy. All is not lost. So many options.

janice4 03-13-2010 08:42 AM

why did that post twice ? LOL

janice4 03-13-2010 08:45 AM

another quick look.. even in a scrappy there is usually something that ties it all together ( that might be one color around those blocks ? and I can't see that............. maybe this is a couple of smaller ones? There are areas of the top I really like. Good luck and post after we all want to see what you decided ;)>

I am going to go to a production of CATS in LA today and dinner with friends.. :):) Nice after the long week and losing our dear friend thursday to cancer ;( after a long battle !!

cbuchanan 03-13-2010 09:19 AM

I love both of them. But, then again, I LOVE scrap quilts. But if you really don't like them, pack them up and send them to me. I'd love either pattern.

I go To The Sea To Breathe 03-13-2010 09:45 AM

I would love to take one off your hands also....

gollytwo 03-13-2010 09:55 AM

I also like the 2nd one with a dark border.

When I really dislike a quilt top (unless everyone thinks it's ugly) I give it to charity.
If everyone thinks it's ugly, I pratice stuff on it.

Gelswood 03-13-2010 12:02 PM

I LOVE the 2nd one. It is beautiful, reminds me of the good old days when all they used were scraps. I too would love it, send it on to Idaho!!!!

KarenBarnes 03-13-2010 01:39 PM

I think they're both great because I like lots of color and scrappy quilts do that! If you REALLY don't like it, I'd be happy to help it find a new home! :)

Quilter2B 03-13-2010 01:53 PM

Thank you Ladies. After looking at them in the photograph and reading all the wonderful comments here, I have a slightly different perspective of it. It is currently in a box on my cutting table. I'm going to work on a couple of other projects (got some long time family friends getting married in July I I had already started a quilt for) so it may be a while before it gets done but i promise I will eventually finish it and put some pics up. Thanks again for all the encouragement; everyone here is so wonderful!

lindy 03-13-2010 04:14 PM

I love them. My address is......

chris_quilts 03-13-2010 04:55 PM

#2 arrangement is just beautiful. I love it. I do scrappy round the worlds frequently but on a wall hanging scale and not this large. Finish this - it's superb!!!

Marcia 03-13-2010 05:40 PM

I like them both---scrappy and bright! But, I think I like the second layout the best.

beaglegirl 03-13-2010 06:57 PM

I think they are both beautiful but #2 is my favorite.

Version #2 is the one I'd do, it's pretty!

waquilter 03-13-2010 11:03 PM

I like multiple diamonds. And I love your version.

quiltykiwi 03-13-2010 11:09 PM

No. 2 is also my pick! I have made one like this before and several people wished to buy it from me ! great for the moral!

zz-pd 03-14-2010 12:24 AM

I like both, my favorite one is the second one. Penny

JudeWill 03-14-2010 09:42 AM

Well, again I'm swimming against the current, for I like the first one--a lot!

ddrobins1956 03-14-2010 03:15 PM

I really like it and I would go with your second layout. You know, we probably all have quilts that we are not totally attached to, there are many different places that you can donate quilts. Let's keep our quilts out of UFO boxes and put them into the hands of someone that would be thrilled and comforted by your efforts.
I have made quilts for Project Linus, Ronald Mcdonald house, Guardians Adlitum and a nursing home that my daughter works for. you can find many places to donate right in your own community too. Just a thought.

sylvia77 03-14-2010 05:28 PM

ddrobins, I love your yorkie, just adorable!

lupee60 03-15-2010 12:52 PM

i like the second one too

cande 03-15-2010 01:01 PM

I'm going against the popular vote; I happen to think #1 is nice. I love scrappy quilts and think it will turn out great with a border or 2.

ddrobins1956 03-15-2010 02:41 PM

Thanks Sylvia, He's my baby. His name is Bailey. He's just like having a toddler in the house, into everything and always looking for attention. Aren't pets great?

lass 03-16-2010 03:35 AM

I like the second one also. It seems to have a great pattern. If you don't like it after it is finished, a charity could always raffle it off: your local library, hospice, hospital, etc;

I like this one too

jojo47 03-19-2010 06:49 PM

#2 is awesome! Borders complimenting any of the colors in the quilt would make it pop! Hoping to see pics when you have it done!

fish92241 04-04-2010 10:15 AM

I really like quilt #2, but can't quite see how you put the blocks together. I would like to make one like it.

ScubaK 04-04-2010 10:17 AM

I like #2 best...
