PLEASE VOTE - Which Escher Steps Pattern is best?
4 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I am making this quilt for some very special - my DH, and when I ask him which pattern he likes the best he just smiles and says they are all wonderful. So I am here looking for input - Please vote for #1, 2, 3 or 4 and what you like or don't like about it or the one you chose.... thanks! |
I like no. 2. I see more of the background.
I also like #2. I like seeing the steps going in both directions.
I keep going back to #1. It seems to flow.
I like 2 and 4 best...
I like #1 best. It just works for me.
number 1 or 3
I like #2.
i also like number 2 looking good
I like #2.
i like #1 i think it has a more calming effect
I like #3, for reasons I c an't explain.
I like #1.
Definitely #1 or #3. Just a thought ---what if you made the design larger, like only 4 x 5 squares instead of 5 x 6. Your pieces would be a little larger to work with.

With #1 - I see the steps first - and for reasons I can't explain, I would like the steps to go from bottom left to top right.
With #3 - I see the backgrounds first, and the steps are secondary I don't care for #2 or #4 - and I can't explain exactly why - maybe because it's because the steps resemble some other patterns, and it seems like a waste of a really unique design feature. |
perfect explanation. I agree with this. If it's the steps that you want to see, number one accomplishes that.
I keep going back to one. They are all great but there is something that catches my eye on one
I like #3 the best. It flows well, but your eyes don't get bored as they would in #1. All of them would be lovely, though.
I like 1 the best. The steps jump out at me. (For 3, the steps don't jump out.... they are secondary).
I don't like 2 or 4 as much. They make my head spin. LOL |
I like #1 best. #2 is beautiful but a little to busy for my taste.
Number 1, for me also! Terrific design! Please show us as you proceed!!
2+4 best. Different.
I vote for number 2
i vote for #2
I prefer #4, just like the movement in the piece!
Either of these are fine but I think it would make it more interesting if you did more a more random arrangement as if the flights were wandering up and down and back and forth..
I love all of them, but now I will throw you another suggestion and why. I like 2 & 4, because the eye goes to the center of the quilt and not off the edge. Now for the curve, is it possible to coordinate the colors as they come down and back to the edge, to be blue in one area and gray in the other? Like what you did in picture 3. Just what you needed, another layout. Lol. That is going to be one gorgeous quilt, however you put it together.
I like #4 best, but also like the idea suggesting random steps. Would have to see that though.
I vote for #1 or #3, but #1 is the one that stands out more for me. To me the steps just flow better in #1. It will be beautiful no matter what you chose.
My first choice would be #1....then #3.
I like numbers 2 and 4. Good luck choosing.
#1 is perfect. Love the colors and look of steps
I like 1 and 3 best. 2 and 4 hurt my eyes.
I like #3 and my second choice is #1 I think they both ]have more of the M C Escher feel
Love your color choices |
I like #1 best because it gives more of the true MC Escher effect. The others are great designs, but I think they lose some of the stairstep and more focus is on the X design, but not looking as 3-D as Escher's work.
Wow, all are great but I like #4 the best.
I like #1 - although all are terrific. Very good use of HST. I may copy this quilt. This pattern would make a great Quilt of Valor.
I like #1 best.
I really like #2 and #4. They pull your eyes in too me it has more movement than the others.
