LOVE that idea..I'm going to do that for the nephews & nieces gift cards for Christmas.

Try saving the pictures to your "My Pictures" and then you shouild be able to print them out. I'm not vedry clear on that, Right click on the picture and click save as and it will go to your pictures and then you should be able to print them out. Good luck, Huggies, Fay

What a great idea for Christmas.

lawsonmugs 10-24-2010 06:27 AM

I make these to match the bow tucks purses I make. One hint I have is use a Knitting needle to push out the corners and I clip off the corners before turning. The knitting needle I use is a big size but they go to a tappered point that is not sharp to tear the fabric.I also overlap the trim about the width of the trim(less that 1/4 " I think it makes a better tailored look. I made one for my secret pal swap for october out of halloween fabric. Mary

Thanks Fay. I made a batch of these yesterday using another pattern I found online, but I like yours better. I think I will need to make another batch using your plan. Thank you so much for sharing and taking the time to post photos. Made it much easier to understand. Huggies right back at you!

Many many thanks for your instructions and pictures, they're great and easy to follow, I always had problem to make these as I didn't have the right measurements for the pieces of fabrics, now thanks to you I can make them nice and sharp.
Take care of yourself

Word of Warning!

I have been on a search for the package of tissues that opens in the middle. Many brands are now opening them at the top skinny end!

I finally found some that opened on the long side toward the middle and these seem to work well. I actually opened the package of 6 or however many it was and pulled one out to check it. The cashier never said a word, she just scanned the bar code. Still, it makes me wonder what she might have thought I did?

I found them at Walmart

Fay, Thank you very much for taking the time to help me. I just made one of these and I thought it was quite cute.
Wiull be making many more. Your hints working great for the pictures.
Thank you, Lois

Very cute!! And instantly I knew what I was going to do with this pattern. My daughter teaches a 2nd grade where she's decorated the room with Robots, so I can match the lap robe I'm making her with one or more of these darling little desk top tissue holders. I can take the Robot patterns and reduce them on the printer for this.

Thanks for the tute, it will help a lot.

Bobbinchick 10-24-2010 11:59 AM

Your all very welcome. I'm sorry the pictures don't do it justice and I miss my photo software that I had on the other computer. It doesn't work with XP so I use the one that goes with my DSL from Qwest. I'm sewing today as the ol' ticker is feeling better. Soo off to the sewing room. Making a table topper that is in the McCall quilting magazine. Just bought it this a.m. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay

Funny you should say so ... the tissue pkg that I have that opens in the middle came from Rite-Aid. Unfortunately, I don't live near one now.

We got rain yesterday! First rainfall of the MONTH! Didn't last long but the plants and trees were yelling yippee!!!!

Mish, I love your choice of fabrics.

MISHNJIM 10-27-2010 01:55 AM

Thank you...The black/pink/music notes is for my niece, I made her a quillow last year with the same colors. In fact I made all the niece's and nephew's quillows, so I'm trying to find their fabric to make these with.
