"Pointless"
 

This was my first large quilt. I went into this project with absolutely minimal knowledge or understanding of correct cutting, piecing, bias handling and basting....happily sailed into this project blisfully ignorant and full of bravado! As you can see many of the batik triangles are missing their points and my rows are, to be frank....wonky at best! Hence the name of this quilt is "Pointless" and whilst I wince at the magnitude and number of inaccuracies I managed to sew into this poor quilt, I do love its bright colours, how it looks on my couch and how it feels on my lap of an evening!

It is super! You worked hard and it soothes your soul. That makes it perfect!

I love the way you describe your work. Quite an accomplishment and beautiful result!

I believe for some people at least, the quality of the quilt is not the construction, but how much joy and comfort it can bring to someone! Unless you are bent on winning some award, there is no better achievement than making a well loved quilt! Congrats, it's beautiful!

If you had not mentioned that there were mistakes, I would never have noticed. Still haven't actually. It's so busy and bright and colorful that your errors fade away. I think it's super!!

Looks great to me. The important thing is that this quilt makes you happy.

My first quilt had a few problems, but I counted it as a learning experience. You did a good job, and I love all the bright colors. Think of it this way...a less than perfect quilt is still just as warm as a prize winner at the show.

I love your colors. I've been quilting for about 10 years and still find fault with my construction. Don't be so hard on yourself. Just enjoy and be satisfied with little steps in improvement.

Good grief! Perfection is over-rated and for those who like that format. It's a lovely choice of colors and design,you like it,that's what matters.

I think your quilt is wonderful. The colors are bright and cheerful. You did a really good job on your first quilt. You also have a tremendous talent with words. You must be a writer, or at least, you should be.

Beautiful result. We ALL have cut off triangles when we were newbies so don't feel badly. You will be able to see your improvements over the years.
