Here are pictures of my sewing room, it gives me a bit more room than I would have in the motorhome. Plus I can hear and sometimes see the wildlife all around me while I sew. ;-)

WinSumLsSm 06-13-2011 04:54 PM

That has got to be the coolest thing :)

laughingquilter 06-13-2011 04:55 PM

That is so awesome! And talk about my idea of a vacation! :)

virtualbernie 06-13-2011 04:56 PM

Cool! Now all you need to do is cut a hole in the opposite side of the tent, cover it with clear plastic so I can see with these old eyes and I'll move in tomorrow!

earthwalker 06-13-2011 04:58 PM

There's no stopping a quilter is there! What a terrific set-up...thanks for sharing (cool quilt you have there too.)

mtnative 06-13-2011 05:01 PM

Now that is good old-fashioned American ingenuity.

mamaw 06-13-2011 05:01 PM

Now that is a cute idea!! Do you get many lady campers stopping by and checking out what you are making?

vagabondmom 06-13-2011 05:02 PM

That's a cheater whole-cloth quilt that I'm hand quilting for a bedspread for my elderly aunt. I'm about 3/4 done with it.

When we're parked in a campground, yes. Many times ladies will drop by and tell me they are quilters too.

sharon b 06-13-2011 05:05 PM

I love it  What a great spot

Robinlee 06-13-2011 05:06 PM

susanwilley 06-13-2011 05:35 PM

susanwilley 06-13-2011 05:35 PM

LOL Had to share this one with DH. I have been thinking about the Argosy trailer that we have. It needs re-done. DH wants to sell-maybe it needs to be a mobile studio.
Love your outdoor theme!

SharBear 06-13-2011 05:45 PM

As we say here ... that's wicked cool!

Makes camping look fun!

emerald46 06-13-2011 05:54 PM

That is just too fun looking!

luvTooQuilt 06-13-2011 05:55 PM

Awesome!!!!!! Im gonna keep an eye out for a 'tent' for our camper!!! Love the idea!!

Nettie Phillips 06-13-2011 05:59 PM

I wouldn't dare do that in Alabama. The humidity is so bad it
would ruin every thing but glad you can do that.

Moedeenie 06-13-2011 06:04 PM

Happy Camping! That is just awesome!

coastienest 06-13-2011 06:04 PM

I think I have just met the most diehard quilter ever !!! More power to you

running1 06-13-2011 06:14 PM

Now THAT looks like fun!!! Thanks for giving us a peek into your "portable sewing room!"

cctx. 06-13-2011 06:19 PM

I love it!! Im so jealous. We will be going camping in August and I hope I can create something this awesome. We have a travel trailer, but like you say, not enough room to spread out. We know the amount of room we need!! LOL Just showed my hubby, he likes it too! Enjoy...

BevF 06-13-2011 06:30 PM

That's unique! (We just had three deer outside the window.) I love listening to the birds and would probably pay more attention to them than my sewing. Thanks for sharing!

frugalfabrics 06-13-2011 06:50 PM

Wow! You don't mess around! You've got the perfect setup

Kim Bohannon 06-13-2011 06:53 PM

that is really neet! Love the idea, wouldn't mind doing something like that in my own backyard

Katia 06-13-2011 06:54 PM

For some reason it reminds me of old movies that had rich people out on safari in Africa and they took all their comforts of home with them. I always wanted to do that. The only problem I would have is the heat.

I think it is a great idea. I used to get so bored when we went camping. You can only read so many books and clean the place so much.

I used to have a friend who's in-laws had a cabin up in the woods. It was quite far in, but did have electricity. Her MIL used to go up there and spend a week at a time, just sewing and doing whatever she wanted. It was a big place and she had it decorated so cute and homey. I was so jealous.

LeeAnn 06-13-2011 07:01 PM

You're a genius!!! Very smart....great idea.

MelodyWB 06-13-2011 07:02 PM

How neat..what a great idea!!
