I'd be afraid of using wool batting, especially on such an important, beautiful gift. Why not use something tried and true with no regrets? You did a marvelous job - just saying - don't risk because of batting.

Now that is a work of art! I spent at least three minutes admiring it, I can't even imaging the time you put into it. I love it!
