A purple labyrinth walk

1 Attachment(s)
Here is my purple labyrinth walk quilt. It is a wedding present for my son (who saw the quilt on Pinterest and sent the photo to me, and my soon to be DIL who likes purple. It went together pretty quickly at quilt retreat, and I hope that it continues to go together easily (I am thinking of using wool batting, my first time - yikes!), and a black backing that will include blocks made from left over triangles from piecing the top. I will quilt it on my Bernina. The wedding is July 20th - wish me luck!

WOW ! My jaw just dropped. It looks awesome. Guess I need to look on pintrest more, I have never seen a quilt like this. Looks like a fun challange. Another one to add to my ever growing list.

kathdavis 03-10-2013 07:59 PM

Wow! That is on my list to do. I love the colors.

petthefabric 03-10-2013 08:03 PM

Great job. Where do they live? Is the climate condusive to wool? Wool is beautiful batt, adding a lot of dimension and warmth without a lot of weight. Black or purple would be my choice for the back.

Sewfine 03-10-2013 08:05 PM

fien777 03-11-2013 01:55 AM

I love it!
I want to make it myself but couldn't find the right fabrics in a reasonable pricerange.
But now I see your purple one I may step out of my box and search for other kind of fabrics

Wonderful use of color and a great pattern. May have to do one of those someday.

QuiltnNan 03-11-2013 02:36 AM

nicely done

odysseyquilter 03-11-2013 02:45 AM

Your quilt is AMAZING. Is Labyrinth Walk the name of the pattern or just what you named it? Also, who makes the pattern? I'd really like to try this one. Thanks.

catladyquilts 03-11-2013 03:34 AM

beautiful, love your colors.

BeverlyH 03-11-2013 03:41 AM

I'd be afraid of using wool batting, especially on such an important, beautiful gift. Why not use something tried and true with no regrets? You did a marvelous job - just saying - don't risk because of batting.

McKayzie 03-11-2013 04:15 AM

Now that is a work of art! I spent at least three minutes admiring it, I can't even imaging the time you put into it. I love it!

maryb119 03-11-2013 04:27 AM

WOW! Great job!

daisydebby 03-11-2013 05:37 AM

Wow, that's aMAZEing ( know I spelled it wrong:) )...I've never seen the labyrinth pattern either. It looks SO dimensional....thanks for sharing. It will be well loved!!

lauriequilts 03-11-2013 05:45 AM

That quilt is great! It looks like it was very complicated to do. I use washable wool batting a lot, my long arm glides right through it.

Homespun 03-11-2013 06:40 AM

Yours turned out great.

jad1044 03-11-2013 08:14 AM

Wowzaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! It is gorgeous! I love it - and they will too.... and wool batting! I have not heard of that in years, but what a great idea... I have some wool batts that were given to me - I want to make them up in time to come too - but am wondering who'd want one? But, then I might keep it myself; those cold winter Minnesota nights - it might feel real good right here at home! lol Enjoy -
