Wow what lucky grand children. I love them all.
|
Those quilts are absolutely gorgeous! My favorite is the Bed's on Fire, but the other two are fabulous also. Lucky, lucky grandkids! You are so talented.
|
WOW ... stunning. The bed 'on fire' is great, you achieved the look perfectly.
warm quilt hugs, sue in CA |
Your quilts are stunning. Could you explain the bed on fire one. What is the fabric? Do you have to dye it yourself? It certainly looks 3-D. Congratulations for finishing these masterpieces.
|
These are awesome!! Can you please tell where you got the fabrics for Gwyn and Joes beds?? I looked at Joes and you can feel the heat!
|
I got Joe's Embers fabric/pattern from http://www.dakotacabinquilts.com/.
If they're out, I saw it advertised at http://www.canbyquilts.com/. Gwen's is http://www.avlyn.com/media/projects/...sion_quilt.pdf Gwen's was fun for the beginner that I am -- but Joe's had 13 pages of instructions -- proving where there's a will, there's a way! (seemed like a very long, hard way at times!) Jeff's I sorta made up after seeing it on a website with some gorgeous quilts! http://www.amishcountrylanes.com/Pages/index.shtml Good luck! |

The pattern suggested a swirl design for the quilting. But my quilter used a flame design, which we thought was appropriate! |
Awesome! I love them all! Most impressed with the "newbie" quilting!
|
Not too bright for me! I think they are all beautiful and your teen Gkids should love them. Did they pick out any of the colors?[/quote]
Gwen and Joe chose their designs/colors. I waste WAY too much time looking at patterns online; then I copy and paste them into my computer to continue to ponder them. My GKids sat with me one night and we looked through scads of them and they picked the ones they wanted. |
Wow, now your right they do need sunglasses.lol.
But Beautifully made, my favorite is the burning bed also. They are going to be thrilled to get them I bet. :D  |
They are all really nice, and bright.
|
I bought the gradient pattern as well but haven't had enough time to figure out the pattern. It is worded different than my brain was comprehending. Did you have a hard time with it? I really want to do this pattern. The one I saw quilted was done in circles and really looked awesome!

I was so petrified to cut into that huge five-yard piece of fabric that I bought some tempera paint and painted the design onto huges sheets of craft paper to mark where the triangles should be cut. A handyman working at the house saw the paper spread out on the floor and asked what I was doing. When I told him I was making a quilt, he said that didn't look like the kind of quilting his sister did! :) |
I guess I'll just have to dive in! Cutting up that much fabric doesn't bother me but I just want to be sure that it will look right when done. Oh well, no quilt police live at my house so it will be good no matter what! :)
|
I love the quilts. Great piecing and great quilting for beginners. Your names are so creative. I need you when I am trying to name a quilt.

Awesome quilts! I love the fact that the black material makes the other colors jump out at you.
