"This is hand pieced using the freezer method while waiting for the kids to finish their various activities since the beginning of the year, hence the name "Take me home". I machine quilted it on my Janome. It is a pattern from Australian Quilter's Companion magazine called "Compass Colours" by Dawn Toomey. The wallhanging measures 34" square.

"The wall hanging is 26"x 30 1/2", and is hand quilted, I call it Love Grows in my head. :-) I hope the pictures show up ok, it's hard to catch the design. The design is something I created based on what I wanted to include in the wall hanging. In the center is a cross with the words "Love Is" inside, and I put the qualities of love surrounding it. Inside the cross I put John 15:13 and a vine that is growing that blooms up towards the top. I put two birds on the top each holding a small banner. On the left side the banner says "love one another" and on the right side "1 Cor. 13". The words on the outside are patient, kind, hopeful, faithful, and enduring. Bordering the words I put a vine with leaves. On the bottom of the quilt is a vine that is growing flowers.

"Sentimental Valentine": This is hand-pieced and hand-quilted; finished size 30" X 36".

I saw a small (2"X 4") advertisement for quilt patterns in the back of a Quilt Magazine (do not remember which one) that featured this design about 10 years ago; I saved the ad and filed it away for future use. Several years later, I ran across the ad again and decided I really liked the design in the ad. I called the number associated with the ad and got a 'discontinued' recording. I then wrote a letter to the address mentioned in the ad and it came back 'unforwarded'. At this point, it became a 'challenge'. I took the ad and enlarged the diagram until I could make out the block pattern and kept enlarging it until I got it to a 6" square. Then I put a pencil to it to figure out the color scheme and how much of everything I needed. I used mostly remnants to make the top, but the backing and lace were purchased specifically for the wallhanging. The only resource I have for the design is Lubisco Studios in New Jersey. The pattern and plastic templates were priced at a bargain at $6....which may expalin why they were not doing business anymore.

"I did the wall hanging for my 15 year old daughter when she received her first Les Paul electric guitar. The design is original and modeled after her guitar. The pick up bars are made from soda cans. The fret inlays are from wall paper scraps. The piece was machine pieced and machine quilted.

"Many may think of the desert as a plain empty landscape, but I have always loved the desert and it's mysterious surrounding; that emptiness is full of life and rich colors. So when I saw this pattern called "Purple Mountain Majesty" by Ladyhawk Designs, I just had to buy it. The wallhanging measures 16" square, and was tons of fun to make with raw edge applique and free motion stitching, I am calling It "Desert Solitaire."

"This is the first Bargello quilt I have personally designed. I was able to upgrade to Electric Quilt 5. THANKS to the board member who sold me her new copy. You know who you are.....

I found the inspiration to the design by seeing a rough sketch that displayed how to quilt a Bargello quilt. It was also a new challenge to quilt with a border this time. Free motion was MORE difficult than I thought it would be due to my disability. But it is finished. That is all that really counts.

The name of the quilt is "Life is a Roller Coaster". Having to deal with a disability give you a NEW focus on life. But any life has its ups and downs. This quilt will be a surprised gift for a really good friend. It will just be the way I can say thank you for her undying friendship. I made one obvious mistake. I forgot that I used the pastel green on the body of the quilt. After I placed the dark purple bobbin in to stitch the border (free motion sometimes the bobbin pops up), I forgot to put BACK the light green bobbin when doing the remaining stitching on the body of the Bargello. OOPS !!!

Lordie, I too will have to think on this. The top star is a deep wish to do and have hunted for that pattern but some of the others talk to me very loud with pashions I have. This WILL be a hard list to choose from. Hoping I will be able to find these to vote on again.
