Made this D9P baby quilt for my nephew's new baby due this summer. They had duck themed wedding so I thought the baby quilt should have ducks on it. Just found out the baby is going to be a girl so I may have to do it over in pink.

Antdebby1 03-10-2011 05:25 PM

Cute quilt! Can you tell us more about a "duck themed" wedding? I'm very curious!

intoquilting 03-10-2011 05:40 PM

I love the ducks.

sushi 03-10-2011 05:43 PM

Adorable! Perfect! How wonderful that you incorporated their duck theme!

PS: Pink is not required just because the baby is a girl. Only one of my three daughters even liked pink as a child.

Scrap Happy 03-10-2011 05:48 PM

Oh what a sweet quilt! It's adorable. She'll love this quilt it doesn't have to be pink.

LAB55 03-10-2011 06:04 PM

I agree. like that this one is different from the standard pink for girls / blue for boys theme. good job.

CloverPatch 03-10-2011 08:43 PM

I love it, perfect as is. Having had 3 daughters, pink is not a neccessity!
To quote pixar "you got a pink kink in your think!"

connie d 03-10-2011 09:26 PM

Love, love, love it, and the colors are great..

grammysews4u 03-10-2011 09:47 PM

that is darling,i would give it to a girl.

mamaheath 03-10-2011 10:00 PM

The green reminds me of grass. The duckies love sitting on warm grass in the summer. Very cute and she will love it :)

nlgh 03-10-2011 10:05 PM

Love it--it's my favorite colors and I'm a girl. Well not exactly a girl, but I've been one for 73 yrs. I like your creative mind to think of putting the duck in the block.

raedar63 03-10-2011 10:10 PM

That is adorable. You know if I had of had a girl I would not have had much pink as I do not care for it lol. Un less you just want to redo it I wouldn't worry with it, or ask mom-to-be if her gifted things have to be totally girly girl.

Jennalyn 03-10-2011 10:27 PM

My three best (girl) friends' favorite color is green! Don't change a thing. ;) It's lovely.

QM 03-10-2011 11:14 PM

Very cute. The whole pink and blue thing is a bit silly and overdone. I think you should move on, unless, of course, you want to make another lovely ducky quilt.

charmy 03-11-2011 03:25 AM

Very cute, luv it!

Donna H-M 03-11-2011 03:27 AM

So cute....I'm impressed that the duckies are all facing the same direction....I don't know how to do that on a D9P..since they all get turned...Very nice

pad's 03-11-2011 03:37 AM

Add rick-rack over the border seam.....if you really feel you need to aim toward a "girly" look....I think it looks great as is...girl or boy .... went through that with my sons first...defiantly "boy" on the ultra sound....cutest little girl ever 3 months later.....again, very nice looking quilt

nannya54 03-11-2011 05:22 AM

Darling!

roadrunr 03-11-2011 05:27 AM

It is very pretty, and just right for a little girl. Who says it has to be pink for a girl and blue for a boy?

Donna P 03-11-2011 05:54 AM

Very cute

You can use green for girls, it is considered a gender neutral color. It is so cute.
