Please dont let it become a UFO. My thought would be to connect the border with the body of the quilt somehow. maybe extend a few of the rails, applique a few leaves and gold flowers, quilt it all in gold? I'm sure you will come up with your own creative answer.

It's wonderful the pattern the colors I bet once it is quilted u will love it
I suggest that you finish it, you probably will be surprised how nice it will be.
You spent to much time and energy to cut it up. Finish it, it's really nice, if you don't liike it after you can donate it . Someone out there would love to get thiss one.
I think the colors are great. Add a yellow binding after it's quilted and you'll love it! Looks like you did a great job with the serger.
Well, I'm glad I read that you are going to take everyone's advice and finish it. I really like the colors. Be sure to show us the finished quilt and if you have a change of heart.
I like it and obviously so do many others! I'll bet using a serger to piece a quilt top makes the seams much stronger. I used mine for a flannel quilt that was just simple squares sewn together to prevent them from fraying. Worked well but used a lot of thread!
please finish it. If ,then you still dont like it ,donate it to a local school or nursing home to be raffled off.I know alot of people would love to own it.To cut it up would just not be right after all that work.Sometimes I make things and wonder why I chose to use things as I did, but others see the beauty in it.
Wow, what's not to like? I think once it's quilted you'll feel differently..I get those same feelings about my quilts sometimes after I've been working on them for a while, but it always helps to get some positive feedback!
I personally like it a lot. FInish it and send to me! :)

Finish it and gift it, although with a little medium color aqua it might just turn into a favorite.
I think you should finish it. I would be happy with it.......
Silly girl, its lovely…the colors are fine….PLS finish it!!!
oh gosh finish it you can always give to charity
I think it looks great! Finish it.
I thought I was the only one who wants to chop some of mine up! I think it's very nice. Finish it!
but what about all the time you've already invested? I'd have to finish. If you hate it when it's done, there's a somebody somewhere that will love it.
I like it! Think it will be really neat finished! If you still don't like it, gift it or give it to charity!
Finish it I like the colors.
It's beautiful!!! Love the colors. Sergers are a great tool. You can do alot more on them than I ever thought of. :)
charity quilt, no waste there
I think that your quilt is lovely. The colours are nice and bright. How about using a deep blue or navy to bind the edges and that could 'relax' the quilt a little? Just a suggestion. Everyone else seems to think the gold will make it better. I think that that is a personal choice. Please post when it is finished.

Do finish it. Quilting adds so much dimension and interest to a quilt. You will end up really liking it. I like it.
I agree with others - this is a nice start for a good quilt. I would finish it.
Leave it and finnish it. It looks very nice. Often more then not by the time I am done with a quilt top I am second guessing my color and pattern choice and feel less then optimistic about it. When it gets done I get the enthusiasm back.
I think the colors and pattern are really good.
Finish it. J J |
This is a wonderful job and like it. Finish it. wow
I think you should finish it. Then you can decide if you like it or if you don't. You may find that finished it looks better to you (although I like it as is). If you find you still don't care for it - give it away or raffle it for charity!
I was going to suggest a dark green or blue binding, personally, I would use a dark green. Then, if you still don't like it, there are charities who take quilt tops because the have volunteer quilters. Hospice is one we have here locally. Just a thought.

Help! My fabric choices didn't come out as I had hoped! Made this quilt top at a Serger Class but can't decide if I want to invest more $$$ to finish the quilt or just dice it up for my stash! And yes, you can piece a quilt using your serger!!!!
I like it very much, it seems go together well, I think quilts take on different looks each phase of the project, when finished I am sure you will be pleased.
Finish it!! Color choices aren't bad at all. Even if it isn't what you hoped for, I am sure you will find someone that will cherish it!
Finish it, it is a great quilt.
Oh please don't cut it up...I cannot tell you how many quilts at this point I'm disappointed in. However, once quilted they take on a life of their own. Hang in there Laugh, Love and Quilt as your tag line encourages!
OMG don't cut it up !!!. If you want to change something, maybe try a different border - perhaps a green one. That just might change everything & you may like it more than you think.
If you don't like it right now, or have doubts, put it aside and work on something else for now. Get it out a monthe or two from now and see if your thoughts have changed.
I think it would be worth your efforts to finish it, maybe just not right now. |
I agree about finishing it. I am making one for my grandson and also felt it was very disappointing in it's appearance. However, I showed it to some teens and they all loved it. Even had some offers to adopt it if my DGS should decide he didn't like it, LOL.
So I am going to finish mine and let the clippings fall where they may. At least I know someone will love it when it's finished. :) |
I agree, finish it - I like this one.
Alot of times the quilting gives the top that extra something, finish it before you decide...try and picture it on a bed in a room with co-ordinating colors..I bet it will look fantastic....
